Best place ever! Honest, great price, fast check up. I recently took my car to an auto shop for a routine oil change. After oil changed, they insisted my brake pads needed immediate replacement, claiming my driving habits were to blame for their rapid wear (despite having replaced them less than a year ago). They pressured me by saying that failing to replace them immediately would lead to a more expensive job involving the brake discs. Seeking a second opinion, I visited Melrose Auto Shop today. The owner was super professional. He performed a thorough visual inspection, using a camera to clearly show me the condition of all my brakes. He confirmed that the brake pads were not yet close to needing replacement and would be good for several more months. I am incredibly thankful for his honesty! He saved me from an unnecessary expense, and he did not charge for the inspection. I will definitely be returning to Melrose Auto Shop for future car maintenance. Their prices, including for an oil change, also seem to be more competitive than other places I've called. It is a relief to find such a trustworthy mechanic!

This mechanic is the best I've ever been to in LA. If your car needs one, take it to Jay at Melrose Auto Repair, and you'll never go to anyone else if you can help it. I was referred to Jay after a few years of skeezy and lackluster mechanics, and was so relieved to find someone as trustworthy, highly skilled, and reasonably priced as him. Honestly, I should've written this review years ago. This is the umpteenth time he's fixed my car in short order and at a very reasonable price. His honesty deserves 6/5 stars, and he's damn good at what he does! I've been recommending him to people ever since he first fixed my car.
Very good service, fast and cheap. Very trustworthy! 1/4 the cost of the dealership for the same quality of repairs. I stopped going anywhere else for any maintenance, the head mechanic here just knows his stuff he's incredibly honest and faid about pricing
It is a small place so I was at first skeptical but, now I am a regular. Best services. Fair price. Great customer service. He accepts walk in’s and it’s never too busy. Changed my Prius tires and converter here before.
