Alex at Chicago Auto Repair provided some of the best service I’ve ever received. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy to understand from start to finish. Every question and concern I had was answered honestly and explained in great detail, which really gave me confidence in the work being done.
I chose Chicago Auto Repair because of the excellent Google reviews and expected a much better experience. I called on Friday and was told to bring my car in early Monday morning so I could get it back sooner. I arrived at 8:30 AM for an oil change and also wanted a noise from the rear of my car checked. Alex offered a paid diagnostic inspection, and I told him to complete the oil change and complimentary visual inspection first. If nothing obvious was found, I was happy to approve the paid diagnostic. I waited for almost 2 hours, and only then was I told that the diagnostic couldn’t be done because there were already several cars scheduled and my car would have to stay until the end of the day. My disappointment isn’t that the shop was busy. It was the lack of communication. If I had been told this when I dropped my car off, I would have planned my day differently. I had already delayed my 55,000-mile service because I had been busy, and today was the only day I had set aside to get both the service and the noise checked. Instead, I left with only the oil change completed and still have to schedule another appointment elsewhere. Alex was polite throughout the visit, but I hope the shop improves communication so future customers know what to expect before planning their day around an appointment.

Was recomended to me by a neighor and really glad they did. Very professional, accomodating a quick. Brought in my car with an electrical issue, thought I would need a new alternator, but they were able to diagnose it as simply an few loose bolts and fixed the isseue without charging. Dealt mostly with Eric, he was very professional and friendly and I was always able to get hold of him quickly which is important to me. Will definely go back with any future needs. Thanks guys!!
After getting bad advice from another mechanic, I decided to bring my car here for a second opinion, and I’m really glad I did. Alex was great to work with, he answered all of my questions, kept me updated, and was super flexible throughout the process. My car needed a thorough inspection, and they took the time to actually figure out what was going on instead of rushing to a diagnosis. I did have to come back once for a small fix on their end, but they got me in right away and took care of it quickly with no issues. Overall, it was a great experience. Honest, professional, and excellent customer service. They’ve definitely earned a loyal customer, and I’d recommend them to anyone. 10/10!
Nothing major needed on my car, just a standard oil change. I went with Chicago Auto Repair because it's just down the block from me and I'm very happy I did. The estimates were realistic, they sent me photos of what they believed also needed to be replaced ($20 cabin air filter, and from the photo I would agree that it needed to be) for my authorization prior to charging me for anything. It was all done quickly and well within what I expected to pay. Whether it's standard maintenance or something else I will absolutely be returning to Chicago Auto Repair.
