Tom Dwyer’s mechanic shop is where I’ll be going as long as I’m in Portland. I recently bought a vehicle from a dealer that supposedly was “ready to be driven”. I got it inspected at Tom Dwyer’s and they discovered multiple critical safety issues with the vehicle, and recommended I get it towed. So I did. I am now trying to get my money back from this sketchy dealer. Thank God I got it inspected, otherwise my wife would have been driving in an unsafe vehicle. Thank you Tom Dwyer and the team! I spoke with Casey at the shop, and he’s great. He was like my therapist throughout my whole stressful situation these last couple of days - sorry Casey!! I can’t recommend this shop enough. Honest folks, and very dependable. My car was so bad; they didn’t even charge me for the inspection!!

I have taken my, now 16 year old, car for 5 years since moving here. It is by far one of the best , most reliable, honest , reasonable ,thorough car service centers. Communication is clear and respectful , never pushy. Ii have referred family members without hesitation.
I found Tom Dwyer Auto via raving reviews on Reddit and decided to give them a shot to try to diagnose the source of my water leak. I also added a comprehensive exam (which they offered at a discounted rate) for them to look at my car as a whole and to let me know what things might need repair now and in the near future. They were able to see my car within a week of me reaching out for an appt, and they only kept my car for ~5 hours. They tried everything they could to find the source of my leak, but when they couldn't, they referred me to Liberty Water Leak, who was fantastic and found the sources of my leak and water damage within a few hours. With the comprehensive exam, they listed each item that needed repair and were not pushy AT ALL. They also answered all of my questions, yes... even the dumb ones. 😅 There was an oversight where my wiper cowlings were not installed correctly, so I did leave an honest review on SureCritic saying that I wasn't sure if I'd trust them with further repairs due to that mistake. Within a week of posting that review, the shop called me to apologize and discuss what happened. On top of that, they refunded me my entire bill. I understand now why Tom Dwyer Auto has such good reviews-- They genuinely care about their customers and producing quality work. I am grateful to have been treated with respect, not taken advantage of as a female, and for their determination to correct the mistakes made. Thank you again!
