Excellent choice of Italian food. Went to Grassa for a lunch with friend. The restaurant is big and bright. Customer order dishes at the counter. Comparing with traditional Italian restaurants, the price is more affordable. Water is self service. We ordered multiple dishes of cabanara, pasta, pork belly macaroni, Caesar salad, canoli. We're very impressed by the food. Fresh ingredients, large portion and delicious. The pork belly was braised tender juicy and full of flavor. The cabanara was well executed with nice pasta texture and creamy sauce. That was an excellent experience. We will definitely visit Grassa again next time in Portland.
This was my third day in Portland, and I stopped by an Italian spot for lunch. We ordered the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, Carbonara, and Fried Brussels Sprouts. The handmade pasta was excellent, with a great texture and well-balanced flavors at the start. However, as we kept eating, the dishes started to feel a bit heavy and slightly rich. The service was very good and attentive. Overall, a solid meal with well-made dishes, though it can feel a bit rich if you order multiple items.

The spaghetti alio olio was a bit spicy which was a good touch and the pork belly mac n cheese was also good because the pork belly was so nicely cooked. The grassa meatball was a good finishing touch. I came with my two tweens and we were satisfied with all the food.
This was amazing, glad we followed the Reddit recommendations. The carbonara is one of the best ones I’ve ever had, their spaghetti al pesto was fire, and the garlic bread was great too. Being from the East Coast it’s jarring to experience house made pasta and such thoughtful preparations at a price that’s on par with fast food. Really impressive.
After being away for awhile from some good Portland food. Grassa really stood out. There handmade pasta is a must try and even better is the service that comes with the meal that Erica provides. I had a late brunch here and man can I say I am impressed. They delivered excellent service with great recommendations. I will make this my go-to lunch!! Thank you Erica
