We’d been customers for over 12 years with several cars, the service used to be fantastic and fairly priced. Something has gone terribly, terribly wrong. This last experience has been horrific - please find somewhere else to go. We don’t drive much and had a car worth only $5-6k. They destroyed the engine, then charged us 4k for a new one, and then the new one seized within 100 miles of driving. They then promised to “make it right” while our car sat there for months. They never did. They still owe us at least $609 (while we should have sued them for $6-8k, and still might, we got all of $700 for scrap metal for that car) and they’ve ignored numerous requests for payment that they’d promised me many months ago. This place is a nightmare, seriously find somewhere, anywhere, else to go.
Had my car break down unexpectedly yesterday morning when I tried to start it in 0F weather. Not only did they drive out half a mile to try to jump it for me but when the car still wouldn't start they ordered a tow for me with a discount through their connections. I antocipated the repair to take a week but only took like 32 hours with no upsell on otherwise unnecessary repairs. Also appreciate how they were willing to explain what was wrong and how it happened so I could avoid damaging my ignition due to a week battery in the future. I intend on these guys being my mechanics moving forward.

I needed a thermostat housing replaced five years ago or so when I was new to the neighborhood and have since trusted this shop with maintenance issues. They have skilled mechanics and do a great job. Also once went the extra mile to make sure my front license plate was mounted well after coming loose, totally unrelated to my repair. Always courteous. Totally recommend!
My daughter bumped into the vehicle in front of her and popped the bumper cover clips on her vehicle. She went to Bucktown Auto Repair to get a repair estimate and they installed new clips at no cost for her. Thank you for helping my daughter and we'll remember you for any future repairs.
Went here to swap the wheels on my car. One bolt had seized. They went out of their way and got everything resolved. As far as for the other reviews being negative, people expect to go in for an oil change and get back a new car. Wheels turning black from brake pads? That's because you were being cheap and didn't pay for dustless pads. I, personally, would take my car there again.
