Best gem in downtown Cincinnati - I’d already had my eye on Marigold based on the stellar reviews before a bartender at a neighboring business recommended we try it out. Our dinner at the bar was fantastic but the service from Amaya really put our visit over the top. Cannot highly recommend the lamb ribs enough - best bite of our short trip to the city. We also loved the batada vada and delicious sourdough naan. Don’t sleep on the rotating special pies - lamb spiced pie was absolutely mouthwatering. The ambiance is perfect for anything from a sophisticated business dinner to celebratory cocktails or a special occasion. I only wish I lived closer!
A really incredible experience. We started with the broccoli salad and scotch egg. I had the steak and chips and my husband had the short rib vindaloo. We shared the sticky toffee pudding. Standouts were everything (🤣) but I would say you can’t miss the scotch egg and sticky toffee pudding. My husband is from Cheltenham England and it was a taste of home for him. Heather was our server and was so friendly and helpful. One of my favorite restaurant experiences in the last few years.

Delicious food and amazing service! We came on a Monday night and it was fairly empty, although they do take reservations. The cocktail menu is extensive and the chai espresso martini was definitely in the top espresso martinis I have ever had! For dinner, we shared two appetizers and three entrees for four people. The favorites for the table were the Fish and Chips and Cottage Pie (one of the daily pot pie specials). Our server was absolutely wonderful at explaining the dishes and just generally making us feel so warmly welcomed (I believe his name was Steven).
KNOW WHAT TO ORDER: Samosas Pichadi Salad Chili Paneer Butter Chicken Malabar Shrimp Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert Get the chili on the side with your Malabar Shrimp. The sourdough naan is fantastic, especially if you have FODMAP/IBS. Those who can eat every slice of bread in the known universe might say oh no big deal. For those of us who can never eat any bread? Amazing. London Old Fashioned White wines by the glass from Languendoc-Rousillon. Why do I tell you this? Because no matter how experienced, the management will water down the delights of the menu with bullshit stuff they think the red hats will order. Please. I came up with this menu via other reviewers and I am incredibly grateful for their guidance and expertise. It was a total delight and I will be back weekly. This is a gorgeous space with an amazing team. Another must for Cincinnati. Thank you, kind and lovely Rowan and Elise.
We had an amazing dinner at Marigold! It’s a beautiful mashup of British and Indian inspired food by the brilliant Crown Republic restaurant group. We started with the happy hour, which surprisingly had some very affordable items. We went with the Pimm’s Cup and the GingerBrew for drinks and the Batata Vada for our appetizer. The Batata Vada was an onion encrusted fritter with Yukon potato filling. It was delicious- we did add a touch of salt. For our mains, we ordered the Shepherd’s Pie with beef and the Short Rib Vindaloo. Great combination. We added some delicious sourdough naan. The presentation of both dishes were very good and both were FULL of flavor. Felt like perfect comfort food, flavored and presented to perfection. We loved the modern ambience, the service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. And the food delicious. We will definitely be back!
