We came here for brunch with a group of 10, including several kids, and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with beautiful décor that feels modern, bright, and inviting. It was a perfect spot for a family gathering. The service was friendly, attentive, and well organized. Even with our large group, the staff accommodated us very well and made sure everything arrived smoothly. The menu offers a good variety of options without being overwhelming. I ordered the Smoked Pork Eggs Benedict, which was hearty, flavorful, and incredibly filling. The kids’ menu also had a nice selection, making it easy to find something everyone enjoyed. Overall, this is a great brunch spot with a welcoming vibe, tasty food, and excellent service. I’d happily return and would definitely recommend it for both families and larger groups.
Absolutely incredible meal at Screen Door in the Pearl District! The fried chicken dinner was perfectly crispy and juicy, and the collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. The chicken and waffles is a must-order. I was actually in New Orleans about a month ago and I have to say — the seafood gumbo here beats anything I ate there. Save room for dessert because the pecan pie and banoffee pie are both amazing. Sunday evening at 5:30pm we were able to find street parking on the same block. Can't wait to go again!

We only had starters and sides because of timing constraints, but can still vouch for the deliciousness. Starters were fried okra, black bean fritters (both veg, different sauces) so good. Two biscuits (yummy, one with added sausage gravy) filling but still good. Then pecan bacon (sweet) and fried oysters (delicately coated with cornmeal)! Topped off with various mimosas! Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Their food is definitely not in question here. I got their chicken and waffles and i was blown away. At first, I was sad because this is one screen door location that wont substitute the sweet potato waffle for a regular waffle. I was hesitant because I had never had a sweet potato waffle before, but let me tell you..... it was the most delicious thing I had ever put in my mouth. And there's something truly incredible about the batter they use for their chicken. Their cinnamon rolls are about the size of your entire hand, so don't get more than one order. The one thing I didnt like was the service. The waitress was doing the best she could, im sure, but it took her 10 minutes just to greet us. I counted a total of two times that she came to the table and I almost had to hunt her down for the check. So, if you're on a time crunch or you're picky about service, dont bother coming here. But if you're able to put up with that, my God, go and get the chicken and waffles.
I've been to Screen Door Pearl District for both brunch and dinner - both menu were great, the staff was attentive without overbearing, and the prices were reasonable. For the most recent dinner, we ordered: * Sauvie Island Greens salad - it had the right amount of dressing and the seasonal beets w/streaks of purple were so pretty. * Fried chicken with sweet potato waffle. Good thing we asked the waitress about the size of the fried chicken as it was quite large. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice to it. Yum! * Red snapper with clams and andouille sausage - This one was a hit too as I was curious as all the ingredients together. I would recommend an order of rice to soak up all of the white wine reduction. We look forward to visiting Screen Door the next time we visit Portland!
