My experience with Urologist Dr Ehud Zusman at The Portland Clinic - Tigard has been consistently excellent. A clinician who first carefully assembles all of the necessary information through thorough examinations, lab tests, and imaging before completely explaining his diagnosis and possible treatment options in a deeply caring and understandable manner. The following surgery at the next door Alberty Surgical Center by Dr Zusman was made as easy for me as possible and yielded excellent results. Over the years, Dr Ehud Zusman has remained my example for excellence in his dual roles as both caring clinician and confident surgeon. When a patient has required treatment that is outside of his expertise, he has gone the extra mile to personally arrange an immediate referral to an outside surgeon with outstanding results. In my experience over several years, this level of care by Dr Zusman is an example of a doctor dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care.
Review of Dr. Young Choi, MD: From the moment I walked into my first appointment, I felt like my concerns had already been dismissed. I was referred by my primary care provider to rule out potential causes of my symptoms, yet I never felt that my experiences or concerns were genuinely heard. I wasn't asking for invasive procedures or unnecessary testing—I was simply hoping for a thoughtful evaluation to establish a starting point. Instead, I was told that what I was experiencing wasn't possible. After repeatedly advocating for myself, additional blood work and an ultrasound were finally ordered. Those tests ultimately revealed a diagnosis, yet the only follow-up I received was a brief MyChart message stating, "You have ***," with no explanation, discussion, or plan for moving forward. As a patient, I expected communication, education, and compassion. The most disappointing part of this experience was feeling like my chart was treated before me. Listening to patients is one of the most important parts of medicine, and I never felt heard. This was the worst bedside manner I have experienced, and I will not be returning to him for future care.

I showed up for my virtual consultation appointment w/ Dr Zusman and the provider never did. I received an automated text that said he was running late 10 mins after the appointment time. 30 mins after my appt. time Emily called saying they were calling my name in the clinic and didn’t know where I was. They didn’t know it was a virtual appointment, they thought it was in person. I called Emily back 2 mins later and there was no answer. I left a message explaining that I showed up to the virtual call and would like a call back to reschedule. That was on April 14th and it’s April 17th and I still haven’t heard from the office. My after visit summary on the 14th acknowledges the mistake on their end, and that they would reach out to reschedule. I will not be getting any medical services from a group that so easily lets things fall through the cracks.
The doctor is measured—thoughtful, deliberate, and not reactive. Their approach feels holistic, taking the whole person into account rather than focusing on a single symptom. When I came in with an unexplained growth, my first worry was cancer. The doctor eased those concerns by explaining the nature of the growth and guiding the conversation toward other possible causes, including practical ways to monitor it.
I’ll start by saying all of my previous experiences at this clinic, and the NE clinic, where my PCP is located, have been overwhelmingly positive. That said, my experience today overshadows those. I made an appointment for an MRI the first week of December, after being told in-person that my health insurance company gave prior-authorization for coverage; my appointment was for this morning, January 2nd. I received a call from this location’s radiology department 45 MINUTES before my appointment today, telling me that my insurance company denied coverage for my MRI on December 23rd…10 days ago. I jumped through the hoops to make my appointment, I waited a month for my appointment, I woke up early for my appointment, only to be told less than an hour before my appointment that I would have to pay out of pocket, when that information was learned over a week prior. I’ve been in the care of the Portland clinic for a decade, and while I love my PCP, the quality of operations of The Portland Clinic have been steadily declining for the last few years.
