Beautiful hotel, very well maintained, exceptionally clean, with spacious and luxurious rooms. The pool and spa area are absolutely stunning. Overall, this is a high-end hotel with many activities available, although most of them come at an additional cost. There are a few areas that could be improved; - The service could be warmer and more welcoming. The staff was polite, but we felt that the overall hospitality could be much better. - The restaurant should make sure that all the dishes listed on the menu are actually available and offer a wider variety of options, especially for breakfast. - The dining experience felt disorganized. The restaurant's opening hours were not always clear, our food arrived several minutes before the cutlery, and even basic items like salt and pepper were missing from the tables. One important thing to know is that meals are not included with the stay. We ended up spending around $200 per meal, so this is something future guests should keep in mind when planning their budget. Despite these issues, the hotel itself is beautiful and offers a luxurious atmosphere.
Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa was such a beautiful experience. The rooms could be a little cleaner when it comes to small details, but overall the property, activities, spa atmosphere, and food made the stay feel really special. I also loved that it is a true working ranch, yet still manages to be one of the best spa resorts I have ever been to. That combination of rustic ranch charm, mountain beauty, and luxury relaxation is really unique. The Ranch House Restaurant was absolutely amazing and so worth it. Yes, it is crazy expensive, but honestly… God, it was heavenly. The 9 oz steak, the trout, and the gratin were so good that they literally made me come back a second day. The food felt memorable and beautifully done. The activities were also very well planned. Stacy’s morning yoga class was amazing — such a peaceful and grounding way to start the day. In the summer, I definitely recommend taking the earlier yoga class before it gets too hot. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and plenty of water. Also, Pawan at the pool bar is truly a master mixer. He made me a drink with real depth, interesting flavor, and a gorgeous surprise for my taste buds. It was creative, balanced, and so fun. Overall, Devil’s Thumb Ranch is expensive, but it really does offer a special mountain getaway with incredible food, thoughtful activities, a wonderful spa-resort feel, and staff who made the experience stand out.

Very disappointed, we have been to DT ranch several times and unfortunately we won’t be back. When I checked in there were 2 people helping one person for 15 minutes, only to be told I need to check in somewhere else. Food was average at best, Waygu burger was terrible, I had a better steak at Outback for 1/3 of the price, they were out of most of the Waygu cuts. Hardly any of the arrows had fletching at the archery range, the girl that brought us out was awesome(only positive of the entire trip). The employees were cold and unfriendly. Couldn’t get coffee after 2:00. The pool was great. Nothing in the arcade worked properly. If the resort cost half of what I paid I wouldn’t go back. We were also lied to about the county being in stage 3 fire restrictions when it was only stage 2, so we should have been allowed to use the gas fire pits.
Absolutely loved our stay at Devil's Thumb Ranch! Definitely want to plan another trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin lodging, the accessiblity to hiking/trails, the proximity to the horses, and phenomenal views in every direction. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
This place is cute but needs a lot of TLC. It is dirty and needs a thorough cleaning. The food is good but the prices are way high. Issues: Our room had a huge soaking tub that I wanted to take advantage of, however, it was not cleaned prior to our arrival. At our first meal, lunch, we were never brought napkins or silverware and part of our order was not even placed by the server. There is a great game room, however, there were no ping pong balks for the table, no chalk for the pool cues, no sand for the shuffleboard table. There were cobwebs, dirt, and dead insects on all the window seals. Just dirty! We would not recommend. I think a 3 star was generous.
