Southern food n booze? I'm in! The menu is short n sweet. I like that, makes choices simpler. I went with fried chicken, dark meat, with fries. This chicken was juicy, with the skin crispy and great seasoning. The fries were average. My girlfriend ordered the southern chopped salad, and we shared the spoon bread and burnt ends.Spoon bread was tasty and even more so with some spicy honey on it. The burnt ends could use some improvement, as I found them chewy and no char at all.The drinks were outstanding. I had the Bourbon punch and swiftly downed my first one, I had to get another. Also tasted my girlfriends blackberry lemonade and that was great too. The vibe is lively, nice decor, and friendly service. Make reservations though we popped in at 430 on a Saturday and they were booked for tables. Good thing we are eat at the bar people otherwise we might not have gotten in. I'd definitely visit again for the fried chicken and drinks.
We almost walked right passed this restaurant, and I am so glad I didn't. With my southern roots, when I saw collard greens and grits, I was in! I got fried chicken with grits and collard greens with a biscuit. I was only missing my buttermilk :) we also got shrimp and grits and the spoonbread. There was nothing but great taste in everything. I love spice, but the grits were a bit spicy, almost too much, which I never say, but they were good enough to keep eating. The greens were crisp, tangy, and I loved the bits of pork in there. The fried chicken was perfect. The outside almost looked too done, but when I jumped in, the flavor spoke for itself. I look forward to getting to this place again. Definitely work the time and the prices were great!

Crispy, flavorful juicy fried chicken with the perfect crunch, especially with the hot honey. The sandwich was juicy and stacked with fresh ingredients. Great portions and a fun, lively atmosphere. Definitely a go-to spot for comfort food.
The restaurant is very nice. I did like the flavor of my food. However, I think the price of the chicken is slightly high. I think $10 for two pieces of chicken (breast and wing) is to much! If the chicken was bigger or 3 pieces it would be better. I didn't like the burnt ends! They were overcooked and small. I wouldn't buy those again. Other than that, I would go again to try other dishes.
It took me a minute to write this review but it's not because they were slacking. No sir! My cousin Rhea told me about this place. She told me there is one in Cincinnati. (Base) I arrived when they first opened. Rio was at the bar and was very knowledgeable about the history and the menu of the restaurant. I enjoyed the chopped salad at the restaurant but took the famous fried chicken with hot honey sauce home. The salad had everything from corn, beans, cheese, lettuce, (kitchen sink)! I mean so many ingredients that went well together. A must try. The chicken was juicy, moist and flavorful. I can't put my hand on the seasonings but pretty good. The mac&cheese was different but very good. Not the way I prepare but the creamy texture and the flavor was spot on! Rio made a delicious drink. I will go back and I do suggest you visit The Eagle.
