She was charged $450 for a high-grade oil change (which already felt excessive, as I typically pay around $250 in Connecticut), and then presented with a list of recommended repairs totaling over $5,000. What was most concerning is that there were no issues with the car prior to the visit. They claimed she needed a new battery, hoses, and several other items. It honestly felt like my daughter was being taken advantage of. I immediately researched reputable shops in the area and came across Chris. From the very first interaction, he was attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. He had my daughter bring the car in for a diagnostic and provided an honest, thorough quote. Come to find out, her car did not need any of the items the dealership had recommended. Highlands Auto Center is a friendly neighborhood repair center. They can do work much more cost effectively than a dealer and still use original parts. I upgraded from halogen to LED lights for my headlights and reversing lights, which while it sounds easy is actually harder than it seems. They get the work done quickly and are easy to work with. I would definitely recommend them.
This family-owned business is fantastic! When my battery died, the owner came right out in the morning to jump-start my vehicle so I could drive it to their shop for repairs.
