Smith's Auto Repair

I was in town for a funeral when my car broke down. Had it towed to Smith’s and they made it a priority to get my car running again so I could travel home as planned. They were honest, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend them.

I brought my vehicle to Smith Auto Repair for power steering line repairs. Shortly after their work, my power steering return/cooler line failed. A second licensed repair shop inspected the vehicle and documented in writing that the line had been cut in two places and needed full replacement. When I confronted Smith Auto Repair, the owner asked his mechanic if they cut the line, and the mechanic denied it. The owner immediately defended his mechanic despite clear written evidence from another shop and the physical damage to the line itself. This was extremely disappointing and felt dishonest. They only issued a partial refund and refused to take responsibility for the full repair or the additional costs I had to pay for transportation and parts. Because the vehicle was driven without power steering fluid due to this failure, I may now be facing further mechanical damage. Mistakes happen — but refusing accountability and defending poor workmanship is unacceptable. I would not recommend this shop based on my experience.
