I took my 2010 Honda Civic in for an inspection and was told it needed about $900 worth of repairs to pass. That surprised me because the car drives and sounds great. What confused me most were the claims about the brakes, rotors, and windshield wipers. The wipers work perfectly, and the brakes and rotors are relatively new. They make no noise, show no signs of wear while driving, and looked fine when I checked them myself. Because of that, I decided to get a second opinion and took the car to meineke, where I usually have work done. The car passed inspection without any mention of the parts Vince's claimed needed replaced. The only thing Meineke pointed out was that the rear tires will likely need replaced soon, although they still have enough tread to pass inspection. Ironically, Vince’s never mentioned the tires at all. In the end, I tried to save about $15 on the inspection and emissions test, but it cost me nearly twice as much overall. Of course they still charged to look over the car without issuing an inspection sticker.
