Attended the Carl Thomas concert.. Cool vibes and fun times.. Plenty of food trucks, but the lines were long.. My first time attending an event in Akron went well..
A beautiful spot with really nice walking paths and great for biking and events.
I have seen a lot of the Locks throughout the many miles that is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park system and this one in particular has to intrigue me the most. The placards around the place really don't paint a good picture of what the heck this looked like at one point in time. There are so many interesting water ways that bend and merge through here that go this way and that. Even including a tunnel and a water fall that goes in two opposite directions and you cant see the one direction it goes? I have a picture of it and with a little work i might be able to edit down the video I took of some of this all together for an idea of placement of all the water ways. Anyways this park also sits along a long paved walking trail that goes right through the middle of Akron's major downtown district. It is a gorgeous walk if you are not used to city walks. Not too mention, after just a few minute walk North from Lock 2, you get to Lock 3 park. Which also offers an amazing walk and views of this canal winding its way, but also under a giant building which has a walkway right beside it! If you really like it too, keep an eye or ear out because they often host large event sometimes usually with music, vendors, food, drinks etc. It's definitely another Lock and Canal park I would highly recommend.

Took our grandson and we had a great time. Informative about the canal and boats. Very nice walking paths. It was a nice stop on a day of adventures
Nice little urban park downtown Akron and right along the Towpath Trail. A pretty spot to stop and have some lunch or get away from the traffic for a minute. Civic Commons has been starting to hold events here and there is more planned for the future.
