I had a very pleasant experience at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dallas. The rooms are modern and spacious. The location is fantastic. The front desk team was super nice and helpful, specially Sagar he was extremely professional and assisted me with an issue I had with my booking (via a third party site). Super reliable! Work out facilities and pool look great too. Great hotel and value. My first time at Hilton and I will definitely be back! I normally go for another hotel chain but this experience really changed my mind. I'm super happy with my stay and would recommend to anyone visiting and wanting to stay in the Downtown area.
Good location and the restaurant is a gem in downtown Dallas. Especially if it's too cold to venture out. The rooms are a bit dated. You'll find the bathrooms needing to be repainted and refurbished with new hooks and maybe additional shelving. The beds are comfy but there's drafts in the rooms. No vending on my floor but the elevators were always fast. We never needed to swipe our room card to use the elevators at any hour we entered. Valet is quick and responsive. Business area, the one computer didn't work properly when we needed to use it.

I was a little surprised at how poorly this location is maintained. My main concerns were that the room was incredibly dusty, the 14th floor ice machine had black gunk (most probably mold) in the ice, the tap water had a strange taste, the toilet only occasionally flushed, the fitted sheet didn't fit the mattress, the mattress protector/bedbug shield had holes and didn't fit the mattress, the TV didn't have the normal Hilton digital capabilities (most of the options were news and sports and the guide function did not work), there were items sticking out of the ceiling vents (trash and insulation?), the AirCon would make some very strange noises, and the jr. suite was next to the elevators and had an adjoining room so it got really loud at times. The free wifi was sufficient for streaming on my laptop and the mattress was very comfortable. The amount of noise from other floors was minimal. Other reviews for this location focused on how surprised they were that a major metropolitan city facing a housing affordability crisis has large homeless population, it's a city, what do they expect? I walked a lot at night and had no issues, there is decent foot traffic quite late.
Stayed here recently for a work conference. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful, the lobby was clean and modern but unfortunately the rest of the hotel is needing an update. The rooms were dated and dirty. Stains on the walls, missing tiles in the bathrooms and scuffs/broken furniture. Overall a very disappointing stay.
DO NOT STAY HERE! WAS CHARGED A $345 SMOKING FEE AND WE DON’T SMOKE!!! My sister and I stayed here for 4 days. First of all for the price they charge it’s not worth it… fair warning this review is long lol We arrived before 11pm. Pulled up and there was no one at valet to be found. After waiting about 20 mins a man comes out, gets into a car waiting in front of us, gets back out and walks over to our window and asks if we are waiting for valet. Then tells us that he’s the valet but he’s leaving so we’d have to wait for the next guy on duty at 1. He and I both looked at the clock… it was 1055. We ended up waiting about another 15 mins for the next guy smh Check-in was easy. The lobby and the restaurant is nice and what’s expected. The rooms on the other hand are definitely subpar. The bathroom is big but old. The room is big but old too. And the pillows seem to be as old as the hotel. I had 3 on my bed and used all 3 since they lacked any kind of support or fluffiness. Honestly had we not had family staying there too I would’ve left and went somewhere better for the price we paid (almost $900). We were at the hospital all day Friday (5am-1130pm), Saturday from 11-630, and then Sunday we left our room shortly before 8am to eat breakfast at the restaurant. We checked out before 10am with no issues. About 4 hrs later a $345 charge is charged on my sister’s card. She calls to inquire and is told it’s a smoking fee! She tells them we do not smoke or vape so there must be a mistake but they stand firm on it and she’s told to call on Monday to speak to a manager. We both speak to David, the manager, the next day and he offers a report from the new sensors they installed a month ago showing that the sensors detected something between 7-745am Sunday morning. After us not letting up he then offers half the fee back but says that’s all he can do because these sensors are from a “reputable company” and he stands behind them 100%. We asked to speak to someone above him. He gives us his DM’s number, Brooke, who never returned my call. I decided to do research of my own. The company that installs these sensors is called Rest Sensors and they are specifically made for hotels to enforce their smoking policies per their website. Upon further research I see that these sensors aren’t as great as David claimed they are. Many hotels have installed these and many customers have been charged crazy fees (up to $500) claiming they were smoking when they didn’t. I understand ppl are going to lie about smoking in their non smoking rooms when they aren’t supposed to but we DID NOT and to be told I’m lying based on a sensor that clearly has been proven faulty is crazy! Whats even crazier is the idea that we decided to smoke within an hr of checking out yet never smoked the 12 hrs we laid in the room the night before or the few hours we were in and out the days prior. Plus a $345 smoking fee is insane! They require a $100 deposit… why would a smoking fee be anymore than that? So in all do not waste your money on this overpriced hotel. There are plenty other hotels that are far more worth the price they charge. Plus you may be charged a crazy fee for nothing!
