As someone who looks for comfort and hospitality in the places where I stay, I must say that this was one of my favorite hotel stays I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but from the moment my car pulled up, I felt welcomed. The amazing doorman immediately greeted me by name, even though he had never met me before. I feel so bad that I didn’t get his name, but he wears a very fashionable hat, has a beard, and has the sweetest smile and warmest energy. I immediately knew that he was someone special, and I am so grateful that I got to experience his hospitality during my stay at Fairmont Breakers. The room was beautiful, and the staff were all wonderful. There was one unfortunate moment when my brother dropped me off one night and the two young men at the door did not acknowledge me at all. However, the very next morning, my amazing doorman was there smiling, excited to see me, and being the absolute sweetest person. When my sister picked me up, even she said, “Oh my gosh, these people are the nicest people ever.” One of the things I truly need when traveling, especially as a woman, is to feel safe and comfortable and to know that I am being acknowledged. That is exactly how I felt here. From the amazing people who greet you at the door to the wonderful people who deliver your room service, this hotel provides a truly special experience. This is easily one of my new favorite hotels, and I cannot wait to return.
We finally had a chance to stay here for a little stay-cation using our FH+R credit, and it's genuinely great to see Long Beach finally welcoming a true luxury brand among all the convention hotels in the area. We arrived on NYE-eve and the hotel was understandably busy, and the front desk team looked a bit overwhelmed. André stepped in, introduced himself, and started welcoming guests who were waiting. He asked about our plans, and when we mentioned wanting dinner at Sky Room but couldn't get a reservation online, he immediately said he'd look into it. Calls and texts were made, and what really stood out to me was how discreetly and smoothly he handled everything -- he even took down my phone number while I was updating it with the check-in agent without interrupting anything. By the time we finished checking in, he had a 6pm table confirmed for us. The next morning, André greeted us by name as we were about to put our name on the wait list for breakfast at Nettuno -- impressive, especially for a 200+ room property that is luxury but not "ultra-boutique." Keeping track of that many guests while managing the lobby is no small task. We later learned André is actually the GM, which explained a lot about the level of attentiveness. Breakfast was comped due to a longer wait, which was especially thoughtful, even though we had the FH+R breakfast credit that would have covered most of the meal. Still, it felt sincere and like someone truly wanted to make sure guests were being looked after. It's these kinds of small touches and genuine care that make a hotel memorable and turn travelers into loyal guests. Great Job!

We had a wonderful stay at Fairmont Breakers Long Beach over the Fourth of July weekend. Even though the hotel was extremely busy during the holiday, the front desk staff remained professional, patient, and worked hard to resolve any issues we encountered. Our room was bright, spotless, and very comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful fireworks view from our room. Room service was delicious, and we also had a great dining experience at Sky Room. Overall, the service and hospitality made our celebration very special, and we look forward to returning in the future.
The hotel is great in terms of the hardware and food offered at the different restaurants. There are plenty food outlets to choose from. However, the overall experience at the front desk could be much better in my opinion. The rooms are well designed and the pool is also great. However, the pool doesn’t have any direct sun in the afternoon. The gym has great machines but is on the smaller side. The food quality for breakfast and dinner is great and the barkeeper Brandon at the rooftop bar was just a joy to chat with.
After having to fly back to the East Coast, I decided to book a last-minute staycation for a change of scenery. I love the Fairmont brand, but I actually didn't realize there was a location right here in Long Beach, so I was excited to give it a try. As the founder of Self Honeymoon, I typically love booking spontaneous, last-minute staycations for a few days to reset. While I haven't done one in a while, I am launching a new series for my brand later this year to document these exact types of experiences, and I am so happy to officially add this property to my list! I arrived feeling pretty exhausted after managing multiple trips to my storage unit. While the room I originally selected would have been perfect, the team kindly upgraded—a gesture I deeply appreciated, as the extra spaciousness was exactly what I needed to unwind. I did encounter a couple of initial hiccups with the room's cleanliness and the hot water, but the staff addressed and resolved everything swiftly the next morning. To make things even better, they granted us an extended checkout, which completely took the rush out of my travel day before my flight. I am so grateful for the excellent attentiveness and genuine care I received. The Fairmont Breakers is definitely a new go-to staycation spot for me when I'm back in Los Angeles, and I’m already looking forward to checking out the spa, the bar, and the rest of the amenities on my next visit!
