Bartek made our remodel feel manageable, which is not what i expected going in. The walkthrough was quick, but they didn’t gloss over the annoying stuff that usually gets skipped. When something came up, they didn’t dodge it or make it a mystery, just said what it meant and what the options were. We got updates without having to chase anyone down, which was huge. I was comparing a few contractors in Chicago and BarteK was the most direct about scope (what’s included, what isn’t, and what can sneak up on you). Now that we’re using the finished areas, everything feels like it belongs together instead of random upgrades in random spots.
Bartek runs his crew the way you want a contractor to run a crew. Showed up on time, kept the site tidy, actually explained things when I asked instead of brushing me off. We had looked at a handful of contractors in Chicago and he was the only one who didn't make us feel like we were being upsold. bartek and his team did our gut renovation and the whole thing was way less stressful than i expected. communication was constant, like daily updates with photos when we werent on site. they treated the house with care, no random dings on the stair railing or scuffed walls in rooms they werent even working in. punch list at the end was short and they knocked it out in two days. quality work all around
First time meeting Bartek he spent maybe an hour at the house just walking room to room with us, asking questions, taking notes. No hard sell, no rushing to give a number. The quote came a few days later and it was detailed enough that I could see exactly where the money was going. We went ahead with a full first floor remodel plus a small addition off the back. During the work itself the site was kept organized, tools put away at the end of each day, materials stacked neatly. When something needed a decision they came to us with options rather than just picking. There was a hiccup with the cabinet delivery from the supplier and Bartek personally drove out to sort it. The final product is exactly what we talked about in those early meetings, no weird surprises, no corners cut where we couldn't see. Six months in and we still notice small details done right.
