I was a patient of Dr. Kons for more than 15 years. What makes writing this review so difficult is that my experience did not begin negatively. Quite the opposite. During the early years of my care, Dr. Kons was one of the best physicians I had ever encountered. He listened attentively, spent the time necessary to understand my concerns, and approached my care with a level of thoughtfulness and compassion that earned my trust. For many years, I recommended him without hesitation to family, friends, colleagues, and even my Partner started going to see him. Unfortunately, over time, and particularly during the last six years, I experienced what I perceived to be a steady decline in communication, responsiveness, and overall continuity of care. My concerns are not based on a single interaction or isolated incident. Rather, they stem from a pattern that developed over many years. Messages sent through the patient portal often went unanswered or unresolved. Medication-related concerns frequently required multiple follow-ups. Administrative issues that should have been routine often became prolonged and frustrating, requiring significant self-advocacy on my part to ensure matters were addressed appropriately. What troubled me most was not that mistakes occurred. Healthcare is complex, and mistakes happen in every profession. What became increasingly difficult was the feeling that concerns raised by myself and my Partner were not being fully acknowledged or addressed. When I attempted to discuss communication breakdowns and gaps in my care, I often left those interactions feeling dismissed rather than heard. As a long-term patient, I wanted the relationship to succeed. I remained with the practice through numerous frustrations because of the history I had there and because I genuinely hoped things would improve. Instead, my confidence in the practice continued to diminish. Trust is the foundation of the physician-patient relationship. Over time, I reached a point where I no longer felt confident that important information was being communicated accurately, that concerns would be addressed in a timely manner, or that my care was being managed with the level of attention I expected from my healthcare team. Ultimately, I made the difficult decision to leave the practice and establish care elsewhere. In fact, I have chosen to pay out of pocket for an out-of-network physician because having confidence and trust in my healthcare provider has become more important to me than the financial convenience of remaining in-network. Leaving a physician after 15 years was not a decision I made lightly. I sincerely wish I could recommend this practice based on my early experiences. Unfortunately, my more recent experiences do not allow me to do so. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit it is intended: as an honest account from a long-term patient who believes there are significant opportunities to improve communication, accountability, and patient-centered care.

I love Dr. Kons - He listens intently to me as a whole person not just symptoms, and makes me feel heard. He's explains everything that is going on and what my treatment plan is. He answers my many questions until I'm completely onboard and fully understand. Highly recommend!
