From the sweet tea to the dessert, the food was excellent. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and they were so good. They were cooked perfectly. For entrees we ordered the shrimp & grits and the honey dusted fried chicken with green beans and Mac-n-cheese. My husband said the shrimp & grits might be the BEST he has ever eaten, and that is comparing it to Charleston & Savannah. He already can’t wait to come back. The fried chicken and the Mac-n-cheese was so darn good. But, those green beans were absolutely fantastic! We got a piece of the strawberry butter pecan cheesecake to go. Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh.
Tupelo Honey delivered an outstanding dining experience. Danny, the manager who also served me, went above and beyond he moved me to a quiet spot so I could finish a meeting and made sure I had everything I needed. That level of care meant a lot. The salmon was incredible the crispy topping is a must-try and the simple salad I had the day before was delicious. The restaurant is clean and pleasant, and the staff are warm and attentive. As a visitor to Pittsburgh, I’m impressed with the service and the food and can’t wait to come back next year.

Visiting Pittsburgh for the holiday. Tupelo has been on my list for some great & delicious food.🍽 I was not disappointed. I was greeted warmly as I came in by their general manager. Seated at a timely manner. It was an early morning so, I ordered myself some breakfast. 👨🍳 Their French Toast with peaches was so delicate and delicious! Not to mention that can be a meal with eggs, sausages, & bacon. 🍳🥓 I would definitely come again. Oh let's not forget thier drinks! 🍸 *Parking, if you're not familiar. There is a parking space a street over but it's about $8 for 2 hours. Go around and you will see a kiosk that will give you a ticket but pay before you leave. The walk to Tupelo is less then 2 minutes. 🚗
I stopped in before getting on that rail car lift across the street. It was brutally hot out and the restaurant was so nice cool refreshing and clean. It was happy hour starting at 4-6 so I got 1/2 off apps, and a ) dollar margarita for their Thursday marg special. Fried green tomato’s, to die for(super crispy not wet, on a bed of grits and some kind of chipotle sauce, and I also got the biscuits for a cause (get the peach you won’t regret it)- also delicious. Hand shaken margarita was also delicious. The staff checked on me several times, and were nice. Only rec is to have easier to read tap handles, they were pretty much just for the bar tenders to read.
We recently dined at Tupelo Honey and couldn’t have been happier. First it was so nice and cool inside (almost 100 degrees outside!). We were pleasantly greeted at the door and our experience got even better as we spent the next hour there. Our server was so friendly and knew the menu inside and out! The fried green tomatoes were the best I’ve ever eaten. I’d go back just for them! There were six in our party and we decided to order a few things and share. The summer berries salad was so refreshing as were all the non-alcoholic beverages. The half bird was delicious and perfectly cooked. Let’s not forget the biscuits, grits, brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, fried okra, honey pecan chicken salad, the meatloaf (better than my mom’s) and the shrimp and grits. Dessert (banana pudding) certainly didn’t disappoint! We will definitely revisit!
