What really sets the Luskin Hotel apart is how thoughtfully it integrates UCLA students into the environment. As a guest, it was refreshing to stay at a hotel that clearly prioritizes its role within an educational institution rather than functioning as just another generic hotel near campus. One of the things I appreciated most was that students are welcomed to study in the hotel’s lobby and desk areas. It creates an atmosphere that feels connected to the university, where academic activity and hospitality exist side by side. Seeing students working quietly alongside guests reinforces that the hotel genuinely supports the academic community. Because the Luskin Hotel is directly affiliated with UCLA and located right on campus, that connection matters. The fact that the space is intentionally designed to accommodate students studying makes the hotel feel like a true extension of the university rather than simply a commercial property next door. As someone deciding where to stay near UCLA, that commitment to supporting students made me feel confident that booking here was the right choice. It is a hotel that understands its place within a university community and embraces it in a meaningful way.
I have stayed three times in the last 2 years. My son is a sophomore at UCLA. The hotel is right on campus, very convenient. Room service is super fast and tasty. We ate breakfast and dinner at Plateia. Breakfast is buffet and good selections. Dinner was fantastic. We dined last month while staying at a different hotel. We had the trout and pizza. Chef's kiss!

Dear Management Team at Luskin Hotel, I am writing this email to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding service I received during my recent stay at your hotel. In particular, I would like to highly commend Ms. Safirah at the reception for her exceptional help. On January 22nd, I was in a very stressful situation. I had purchased NBA tickets through Ticketmaster, but I hadn't received them even though the game was starting in just three hours. As this was my family’s first visit to the United States and I was not fully confident in my English, I was feeling quite overwhelmed and turned to the front desk for help. Even though this was not a hotel-related issue, Ms. Safirah stepped in without any hesitation. She spent more than 10 minutes on the phone with the ticket office on my behalf. Throughout the long call, she remained incredibly patient, professional, and never lost her kind smile. Thanks to her dedicated support, I successfully received the tickets and was able to enjoy the game with my family. Her kindness didn’t just save our expensive tickets; it left a wonderful first impression of the U.S. and the Luskin Hotel for my entire family. Because of Ms. Safirah, we definitely plan to stay at your hotel again on our next visit, and I will be sure to recommend the Luskin Hotel to my friends and colleagues. Please make sure to share this praise with Ms. Safirah and the management team. She is a true asset to your hotel. Warm regards, Sungdong kim
Hard to beat the location if you want to be near UCLA. One con I had this time: The parking lot below the hotel is small and it was full when we came back in the night. We had to go park at lot 8 and pay. That parking is valid till 8am next day. So you have to get up early to move the car. Not fun to do late at night. Front desk was helpful and they removed the parking charge for that day.
It was just okay. The fact that there were no robes, slippers or a mini fridge really took away from the comfort of the stay. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel with a steep price. Also they had truly awful coffee in the room. Otherwise the room was clean and modern with a comfortable bed.
