As a guest, it was refreshing to stay at a hotel that clearly prioritizes its role within an educational institution rather than functioning as just another generic hotel near campus. One of the things I appreciated most was that students are welcomed to study in the hotel’s lobby and desk areas. It creates an atmosphere that feels connected to the university, where academic activity and hospitality exist side by side. Seeing students working quietly alongside guests reinforces that the hotel genuinely supports the academic community. Because the Luskin Hotel is directly affiliated with UCLA and located right on campus, that connection matters. The fact that the space is intentionally designed to accommodate students studying makes the hotel feel like a true extension of the university rather than simply a commercial property next door. As someone deciding where to stay near UCLA, that commitment to supporting students made me feel confident that booking here was the right choice. It is a hotel that understands its place within a university community and embraces it in a meaningful way.
I had the chance to stay at Luskin for a conference and really enjoyed it. It’s right in the middle of UCLA, which makes getting around super easy. Parking is convenient, but the lot is pretty small, so if you’re planning to leave campus in the evening, Uber or Waymo might be best. The restaurant downstairs is definitely worth checking out, the food was really good. The only odd part was having to sign an agreement saying I wouldn’t look out my window toward the football field if the team was practicing. A bit strange, but overall a great stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the luskin. This is easily the top decile for 4 star hotels in America, and for its location, I think it is excellent value. The check in staff were efficient and explained things well. We opted to park under the hotel, and that was worth every dollar, a lift takes you from the car park to the lobby, and you can take another lift to your hotel room. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. I like how the toilet is separate to the rest of the bathroom. The only design flaw in the bathroom is that the glass partition for the shower is not long enough, so you need to angle the shower head a little bit to stop water from getting out. You can also store luggage here, and when I tried to tip, I was told that tips are not accepted in this hotel - as an Australian, this told me that the hotel treats it's employees properly and they therefore do not need to rely on tips to make a living. We stayed to attend a wedding in Beverley Hills and this location is fantastic. It is so close to everything you would want to do as a tourist to the city
Very nice and helpful staffs. And to my surprise this is the first hotel/restaurant in the states I visit that is gratuity-free. They don’t accept the tips even I wanted to give for their great service.
I have stayed three times in the last 2 years. My son is a sophomore at UCLA. The hotel is right on campus, very convenient. Room service is super fast and tasty. We ate breakfast and dinner at Plateia. Breakfast is buffet and good selections. Dinner was fantastic. We dined last month while staying at a different hotel. We had the trout and pizza. Chef's kiss!
