This spot rocks. I feel like Nick and the team here are on my side, not trying to make a quick buck. They gave realistic solutions and told me to buy my own part. This shop was my second opinion on broken AC, after the first location offered a $1100 fix without a guarantee that it would work. After visiting Gateway, they had me get a $90 can of Freon and take it back to them the next day. AC is ice cold, and I saved $1000. They're also just fun and easy to talk through problems with. Excited to keep coming here in the future for whatever I need.
We are so lucky to have such a trustworthy, friendly and reliable mechanic right around the corner from us, but I would recommend Nick even if you live all the way across the city! Nick has helped me prioritize repairs and maintenance for my 2013 Toyota over the past year or so, and he never puts the pressure on to do everything at once. With an older car, it can be daunting to tackle the list of upkeep necessary, but luckily he is honest and fair so that I can do what makes financial sense for me, when it is necessary. Nick takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why so I understand exactly what I am paying for and can plan for what’s next, if anything. They work so efficiently, nearly always with a less than 24 hour turnaround time. Lastly, Gateway is my dog’s favorite stop on our walk because Nick is always ready with a treat and a smile. I brought my car in to get new plates fitted and holes drilled into my front bumper. Nick was honest and timely throughout the process, and I was able to stop in and leave in no time.
