Honestly I don't frequent hotels very often so I'm sometimes surprised at how they've improved the away from home experience. This facility was a little different than many. The check in lobby is in the core and access to rooms and amenities is around that area. Like go around. It actually made me feel a little more safe because you couldn't just walk in and not be noticed. The staff greeted me right away, check in was easy and they told me about all the amenities and where to go for each. I stayed in a single bed room which was nice and modern. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to for business use, the TV was a smart TV with some apps for entertainment. There was plenty to watch. The temperature controls were easy to use. The best part was hot water being accessible quickly. Meaning turn it on and in a few seconds it was hot. Many places you have to run the hot water for a minute or more. This was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
This will be a little bit long but bear with me. We had a very last-minute trip up to Akron due to a family medical emergency. We were able to find one of the few rooms available in town here at the Hilton Garden Inn and mistakenly thought we had booked for multiple days but the reservation only took for one. We received a phone call from the manager, Thomas, letting us know that we needed to check out if at all possible. We let him know the situation and if we could have a little time to sort out a different hotel. He worked his magic in order to allow us to stay one more night and not have to leave the hospital. He obviously went over and above what he needed to do on what turned out to be the weekend of the Hall of Fame ceremonies and obviously a crazy busy time period. Can't thank him enough personally as well as the brand for always taking care of its members when they can. The hotel was great, clean, and the staff is always wonderful but just want to say a special thanks to Thomas and his willingness to go over and above.

During an incredibly difficult time, my daughter stayed at this Hilton while her husband was at Akron Summa Hospital. Sadly, he passed away yesterday. The staff showed genuine kindness, compassion, and professionalism throughout her stay. Their care and understanding made an unimaginably difficult time a little more manageable. Our family is truly grateful and will never forget their exceptional hospitality.
After a horrible experience at a different hotel earlier in the evening, staying at Hilton Garden Inn Akron was honestly a complete breath of fresh air. I turely wish I could remember the girls name I was overwhelmed last night when we got here. My husband and I are in the middle of a major move from Arkansas to the greater New England area, traveling with our service animals after being in the vehicle since 1 AM the day before. Between my debilitating anxiety and panic attacks, my husband’s PTSD and other mental health struggles, stress levels were already extremely high. We walked in exhausted, overwhelmed, and without a reservation expecting another difficult interaction after what we had just dealt with elsewhere. Instead, the staff here were friendly, polite, professional, understanding, and genuinely accommodating from the moment we walked through the door. Check-in was effortless, even without a reservation, and they even gave us a military discount for my husband being a Navy veteran, which was greatly appreciated. What stood out most was how intentional the staff were about making our stay easier without us even having to ask. They placed us on the ground floor close to an exit door, understanding that even highly trained service animals still need quick and easy bathroom access during long travel days. That level of thoughtfulness does not go unnoticed when you’re exhausted and trying to manage disabilities while traveling. To top it off, staff went above and beyond by putting together a small bag with puppy pads, dog treats, local vet information, poop bags, and even a water bowl just in case we needed it. Cause even we forget things sometimes with our highly trained animals like a water bowl. That kind of kindness and preparation speaks volumes about the people working here. This hotel treated us with dignity, compassion, and professionalism during a very stressful moment, and I cannot express how much that meant to us. Thank you to the staff for making a difficult travel day significantly better.
Ever since the age of 14, I would always walk past this hotel that I admired and I would always imagine what it was like to book a room at this place. 4 years later I moved out of state, and on May 24th of 2026 I came back to Akron for visitation. I finally booked a room at the same hotel I always admired. When I got to the front desk, I was ready to hand out my ID. But the nice front desk lady said I needed to be 21 years of age to book the room. I was 18 when I booked the room and fortunately my mom who picked me up from the airport was there to book the room under her name instead. Nice front desk lady then said that's I needed a Incidental fee for the room. She said it was $75. I had NO IDEA what an Incidental fee was and this was the first hotel that Ive booked. Nice front desk lady said she won't be able to give me a room without it. I didn't have 75 dollars and neither did my mom. I was panicking and thinking on what to do. After an hour of waiting the manager or a worker, came up to me and said not to worry about the incidentals. The worker gave me the key card to the room and just like that, the problem was solved. Me and my mom walked up to the room and the moment we opened the door, we were greeted by a bright light from the TV Screen saying "WELCOME ERICMERCURY" Absolutely marvelous. I slept that night woke up the next day and went downstairs to get breakfast. Most hotels offer free breakfast but another nice front desk worker stopped me. He asked me if I paid for the breakfast fee. I didn't know how to answer that since I didn't think there was going to be a fee for breakfast. Before I could say anything he pulled out 3 BREAKFAST VOUCHERS for me to get free breakfast 🤯🤯 Their food was great loved it. I had a great time over here. Owner please raise there payments 50 dollars an hour so they never quit and I can see their faces again
