A Perfect Saturday Stroll with Fantastic Views ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and I spent a sunny Saturday afternoon walking the Scioto Mile Promenade, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. It is surprisingly rare to find a city space this well-designed and maintained. The paths are entirely concrete and impressively wide, which makes for a very comfortable walk without feeling crowded. It was great to see people of absolutely all ages out enjoying the area together. If you appreciate a bit of background, there is plenty of history to soak up along the route. But the real highlight is the scenery. The views of the Columbus city skyline set against the flowing river are simply fantastic. It’s the perfect place to slow down, get a good walk in, and just take it all in. Highly recommended!
The Scioto Mile Promenade is a beautiful place to visit at night. The landscape lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere, and the views of the Columbus skyline and river are stunning. The architecture along the promenade is impressive, and the area feels safe and welcoming, with friendly people enjoying the evening. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful walk, photography, or simply taking in the city lights.

You could spend a few hours walking around and relaxing in this peaceful spot with a smallest splendid downtown skyline view. However, washrooms are not available nearby. Metered parking available near with limited spots
The Scioto Mile Promenade, located in downtown Columbus, is the centerpiece of a transformative urban renewal project completed in the early 2010s. Historically, the area was dominated by a flood control dam, but its removal restored the natural flow of the Scioto River, making way for this expansive recreational space. The scenery is dramatically dynamic. The Promenade offers striking views of the rejuvenated riverfront, flanked by acres of parkland, fountains, and sweeping multi-use paths. Key features include the massive, interactive Scioto Mile Fountain and the breathtaking urban panorama, where the river reflects the towering, modern city skyline. This space fosters a powerful sense of civic pride and vitality. Walking the Promenade, one feels connected to the city's pulse and the refreshing power of nature reclaimed. It serves as a democratic public stage, where the sounds of the city blend with the river’s flow, inspiring reflection on Columbus’s bold vision for a thriving, beautiful, and accessible urban core.
Did not walk the entirety of the promenade as we had a few other stops in the city. The part we did walk was super clean and provided a great view of downtown. Really enjoyed the area, architecture and art.
