Scioto Mile Promenade

The Scioto Mile Promenade, located in downtown Columbus, is the centerpiece of a transformative urban renewal project completed in the early 2010s. Historically, the area was dominated by a flood control dam, but its removal restored the natural flow of the Scioto River, making way for this expansive recreational space. The scenery is dramatically dynamic. The Promenade offers striking views of the rejuvenated riverfront, flanked by acres of parkland, fountains, and sweeping multi-use paths. Key features include the massive, interactive Scioto Mile Fountain and the breathtaking urban panorama, where the river reflects the towering, modern city skyline. This space fosters a powerful sense of civic pride and vitality. Walking the Promenade, one feels connected to the city's pulse and the refreshing power of nature reclaimed. It serves as a democratic public stage, where the sounds of the city blend with the river’s flow, inspiring reflection on Columbus’s bold vision for a thriving, beautiful, and accessible urban core.

Did not walk the entirety of the promenade as we had a few other stops in the city. The part we did walk was super clean and provided a great view of downtown. Really enjoyed the area, architecture and art.
