The wife and I took the grandkids to this nature center one Saturday recently to stretch our legs and spend some time with the grand-kiddos. Ok place for such and outing but in our case that day it almost did not end well. Our granddaughter almost stepped on a Copperhead Snake 🐍 at the Robinson Rock House ruins, which is located on the property of the preserve. Fortunately, our grandson saw it and alerted his sister just in the nick of time! If you watch the video of us walking up to the ruins, right at the end you see our granddaughters pick up a stick near the rock wall. That's the area the snake is at, right in that corner area. She doesn't see it. Right after I quit videoing and start walking towards everyone, our grandson starts hollering about the snake. Everyone sees it then and moves away. And it was a good size snake. Overall, a good family kind of place for a Saturday outing! Other than the snake, this was a fun little excursion! Lol! 😊 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute little Nature Center with some animals like snakes. Interactive stations to explore for little ones as well as a children corner with building blocks, books, a ready nook and more to explore! There is a souvenir shop at the entrance as well. What I really enjoyed was the fenced playground right next to the center, so you can just walk and explore outside, after the Nature Center. Very clean and well maintained. And all for free!

First time there, it was a great park. They have cool carolina panther themed play ground with a 40 yard dash set up for people to run. Lots of great fishing access around the ponds as well. I will definitely be back
Well, this nature center has everything for everyone. I mean literally everything. If you have kids, they have playgrounds, library, museums etc. if you want to run, you can easily make 10 plus beautiful miles, if you simply want to walk, aw! Gorgeous walking trails. Basketball, disc golf, volleyball, baseball you name it. Nice clean bathrooms and employees at the information center are very professional and friendly.
We love this place! Awesome hiking but find a route because there are some trials that go a long way. We love the house ruins from old gold miners! There is also a neat tree there for kids to climb! Kids will love this hiking place.
