We were in town for a sports tournament and our entire team of 9 families stayed. From reserving a room block to checking in to the interactions with the staff, our experience was amazing. I highly recommend staying here, rates were affordable, it was VERY clean and convenient to Wafflehouse, Starbucks, ChickFilA and other restaurants. To get up to your floor you need to scan your room key, thats a great safety feature. Lots of breakfast options at the hotel as well. At the time of our stay in early March there was construction surrounding the hotel on E Broad. We will definitely stay here again when we come back for another tournament.
I do not recommend this hotel. Rooms have hard floors. Everything echoes, meaning if they are cleaning the room next to yours, you hear everything. Room is kind of small, but the bathroom is a nice size. The hard floors in a hotel room is such an odd choice. The sound carries so much and it makes the room feel less cozy.

Let me preface this with a reminder that you get what you pay for. This place, while nicely modernized and very clean as far as I could see is lacking on soundproofing. That is the one downside I can honestly list. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The bathroom was well stocked and sanitized nicely. The room layout was exceptionally efficient with no closet, dresser, or luggage stands that usually clutter a place. Honestly, it's nice to have a free and open corner where I can toss my luggage and leave it open without tripping on it. The blackout curtains were true blackout, so I could sleep day or night. The desk was tiny, but perfect for someone with a laptop just trying to get a little work done. The modernized HVAC was easily adjusted for temperature and fan speed without needing an engineering degree or a hammer (those who remember the old units with their original touchpads instead of buttons will get that joke). There is an indoor pool that looks to be very well maintained. There is no smell of chlorine or mildew in the halls that I've come to associate with indoor pools. I did not get a chance to check out any conference centers or business centers. But the exercise room looks small and clean as well. The lobby is a wide open and colorful place with lots of places to sit and chat or relax. There's even a pool table to have a little fun while waiting or whatever. Their breakfast spread was top-notch. The little store they run in the lobby is loaded with very helpful items and snacks that anyone would likely find appealing. Overall 4/5 only because of the poor soundproofing. I was on the second floor. I heard things like clatters that were so loud I jumped in my seat, even with my earbuds in. There was no slamming doors or screaming kind of stuff. But when a kid coughing in another room is loud enough to wake me at 2AM, I get disappointed, to say the least. I heard what sounded like music around 3AM that was not unreasonably loud, but enough to keep me from going back to sleep easily. Early morning traffic in the halls wasn't terrible. But, again, could have been an overall better experience with better sound proofing.
First time staying at a Tru. The Facility and the rooms were very clean. The pool was clean and warm. The breakfast was good too. Keep in mind there are no dressers, just tables and "modern" furniture
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars The hotel itself was nice, but the motion-activated thermostat alone is enough reason for me not to return. The system shuts off overnight when there’s no movement in the room, so the temperature would gradually rise until I became uncomfortable enough to wake up and move around just to trigger the AC again. I stayed four nights and never got a good night of sleep because of it. What made it more frustrating was the lack of response from management. I replied to the automated text messages explaining the issue, but after mentioning the thermostat problem, the responses stopped completely. It’s unfortunate because the property itself was otherwise good, but poor sleep for four nights outweighs the positives.
