Portland's premier art museum newly enlarged and reopened via the cooly elegant and impressive Rothko Pavillion. Recent refurbishment neatly integrates all historic and brand new structures comprising this beloved edifice now filled beautifully with more rare, admirable, illuminating artworks in all eras and genres. Superb Asian, Pacific Northwest Native American, Contemporary Arts, and exceptionally fine European permanent collections. Serious galleries devoted to ultra-fine, A-List, French Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterworks in lively juxtaposition. Enlarged shop and a modest cafe also now on site. So go already and be dazzled!
It was spectacular and amazing. Injad a great time here i believe there is like 7 floors and you'll need atleast 3 hours for a full viewing. I was able to see the monet lilies and vincent gogh paintings and I was taken back in the past!!! A must go and dont forget to ask for directions haha!!

Came during the grand opening of their expansion and wow, this place is finally worth it to visit. They've really increased their footprint and the amount of art and exhibits they can hold, and the art is next level and thought provoking. I loved the immersive experience where you sleep on a bed and stare at the moving art on the ceiling, as well as several new pieces that's held in their expansion arm. It's easy to spend 2+ hours here without realizing so keep track of time if you've got other booked activities in the city!
I heard there was an expansion and I definitely loved getting to see all the new areas. There was a range of different mediums and artists. Hockney is currently on view and takes up two floors. I also loved the ceramic section. One of the things that was so unique was the multimedia room that you could lay in. It was such an immersive experience. I didn't get to go to the terrace but its nice they have an outdoor space throughout. It’s a museum you can spend up to 1.5 hours or more just taking it all in.
Great exhibits. Very friendly staff checking you in. Quality food at the cafe, on par with Portland’s fine eats. If you get to go you can sit outside on the patio. Plus, there are free lockers to store your things next to coat check. Will be back! Spent 2 hours here and barely scraped the surface 😊
