If you go to Dolly Olive, you have to get the garlic-infused focaccia—it is perfect! The food here is a refreshing change of pace for Italian; it’s very light and not overly buttery or cheesy. Service was some of the best I’ve had, and they even treated us to their delicious Sicilian Eggplant Parmigiana. Portions are small, so keep that in mind when ordering. Pro tip for parents: it's not the most kid-centric spot in terms of entertainment, so make sure to pack some toys or coloring books to keep the kids busy.
I recently grabbed dinner at Dolly Olive in downtown Portland, and it was a great experience. The restaurant has a beautiful vibe, it’s bright, stylish, and feels very upscale but welcoming. It’s a perfect spot for a business casual meal where you want to dress up a little without being too formal. The food was honestly impressive. We started with the Dolly focaccia, which was super soft and salty—definitely don't skip it. The tricolor cauliflower was also a hit and had a really nice flavor. For the main course, I had the black kale pesto, which was fresh and earthy, and the ravioli, which was perfectly cooked and very rich. We finished everything off with the tiramisu, and it was the perfect light dessert to end the night. The service was good too; our server was friendly and kept everything moving smoothly without rushing us. One thing to keep in mind is that you definitely need to plan ahead. Reservations are recommended because even on a random weeknight, the place was packed. If you're looking for a solid Italian spot in the city with a great atmosphere, this is a fantastic choice.

We had such a great experience at Dolly Olive! The drinks were delicious and the meal started off perfectly with their amazing focaccia bread — it was absolutely incredible. The clam dish ended up being my favorite of the night — so flavorful and perfectly prepared. We also had the Tagliatelle pasta and it was fabulous. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully done and full of flavor. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the whole evening really enjoyable. We will definitely be back again!
The food was amazing. I had a chance to try a wide selection. I did the chefs sampler option and enjoyed everything the chef sent out. I would gladly go again. The wine was good, the bar tender friendly, and dish after dish kept on coming. I definitely recommend.
This was my only other scheduled meal. I wanted to treat my friends to a meal on our friend’s wedding day. Figured it would be the best way to kick off our day. Luckily, I was able to secure a reservation. The walk over was under 10 minutes for both of us. It gave me just the perfect amount of time to kill a j. I was ready to drink all the things. Sure enough, my hydration station had 3 options. Limoncello spritz for the fun category, water for hydration and Americano soda for the caffeine. The spritz was perfection. We started off with an order of the arancini. As we were unsure if we would like it, we got one then got another one as soon as we got our first bite. That was followed by the donuts. We were all in agreement that some type of dipping sauce would be a nice touch. My suggestion is dulce de leche. We then went to town on the broccoli &! Italian sausage, hash and tagliatelle. When I tell you - I was in food heaven. That tagliatelle was IT. My friends were kind enough to let me finish the rest. I gave way to the other two. Despite being ridiculous full, we still managed to make room for dessert. We got the cookie and lemon pound cake. Bro that pound cake can get it. The mascarpone whip on top made me tingle on the inside after I got a taste. My gawd I wanted to eat the whole thing. The biggest compliment came at the end of the night when my friend told me I chose the perfect spot and picked all the right dishes. Big thanks to Mike for taking such great care of us. He had the best response to my answer when he asked if we had allergy restrictions. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in town.
