This is my first time ever being inside this wonderful establishment and it’s so embarrassing because I’m a Seattleite and I always drove past by it many times. Lots of cool planes ✈️ and lots of cool little things in here! Being in my mid 30s, I just feel like these kinds of museums are so beautiful and very meaningful! Love love love it 😍
This is a must see stop for everyone. From the moment we met the gentleman selling us a ticket, to the Museum Guide with a lovely British accent who took us on a guided tour of the WW1 exhibits. His knowledge was so deep that we learned things about the development of flight that I certainly did not know and I spent 35 years in the Air Force as an aircraft maintenance engineer!! We were barely able to brush the surface of the treasure in one day. We will be back for more!

10/10 experience. If you are wondering if you should go to here - you should go to here. I went solo and as someone with a slight appreciation for flight and aircraft and a large passion for museums, I NERDED out. And I mean it. Walk through several aircraft including a Concorde? ✅️ See the oldest manufacturing building in America affectionately called the Red Barn? ✅️ Read about the evolution of aviation through thoughtful exhibits and real, actual, honest to goodness planes? ✅️ I only had 3 hours to enjoy but I could have easily spent 6 hours here reading through everything. I had to blaze through the space and military exhibits to make time to even see the entire facility. There is lots of interactive exhibitry for kids and families seemed to be having a blast. Be warned, though, there is lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Other things to note - 1. Exhibitry was well lighted but text could be small. Bring readers if you need them! 2. Getting into the aircrafts located outside require the scaling of steep, metal, stairs. There is a graded ramp and elevator to get out to them, though, just no way to get into the planes themselves unless you take the stairs. I, unfortunately, saw no other ways to access. 3. There are benches located at chair height around the museum if you need a rest. 4. There is a Cafe inside that is spacious enough with lots of space outside to eat if the weather is cooperative. Unfortunately I came in February so no one took advantage. 5. Exhibits were spacious and it was easy to navigate around folks but the gift shop is tight when busy. Also, be prepared to drop some money if you like aviation. The museum was also having a model exhibition while I was there, so be sure to check out their website for special events!
Maybe the best museum I’ve ever been to. So much to see. Took my kid and he loved it. Tons of help from the people that work there. They have ex-pilots and engineers with a lot of cool information. 10/10 will return
Museum of Flight is beautifully presents the real aircraft. Many airplanes showcased outdoors, and many more are hung from the ceiling inside the museum is impressive. There are several galleries - each one has a large collection of aircraft from historic warplanes to modern aircraft with detailed explanations. Well maintained. We were allowed to walk through many of the aircraft. Exploring Air Force One, the Concorde, and the Space Shuttle exhibit was a memorable experience for us. The docents are very knowledgeable and explain everything clearly, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. We have visited this museum twice, and each time we discover something new. It’s never boring. You can easily spend a full day here. No reservations are needed - you can buy tickets at the counter or book them online. It’s a fantastic place for anyone interested in airplanes, space, or aviation history.
