Truly a five star hospitality experience. My husband booked a night so we could go to The Barn for my birthday dinner. The attention to detail by the staff is unmatched. Definitely an amazing first impression and I already can’t wait to return and try the spa.
We stayed a weekend at the Inn at Walden in what was considered the “least expensive” room, and it was truly a dream. The grounds and the building itself are stunning—immaculately clean and decorated with so much care and beauty. Dining was a highlight: The Barn restaurant was incredible, and we also loved eating at the Clubhouse. The nightly turndown service with wine and chocolate-covered strawberries was such a thoughtful, luxurious touch. Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and helpful, which made the stay even more special. The only small thing we would change is that our room had many windows with only sheer curtains, so it was very bright in the morning. Blackout curtains would have been nice for sleeping in (even if they aren’t as pretty!). Overall, an absolutely wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to return.

Years late for this review but me and my fiancé will never forget how this place treated us years ago. We were young and just looking for a nice place to enjoy her birthday and the staff went above and beyond for us. I’ve stayed at plenty of 4+ star places since and even though the location of the Walden was random it still to this day had the best service & romantic experience.
This past weekend I stayed in a suite at the Walden. A little under $700 a night. I grew up in Connecticut and NYC so I am well versed in the standard of good service and reasoning behind the cost of such establishments. Upon arriving, we were a little pulled back at the room itself. It is ohio so I am not holding to the same caliber as Connecticut and NYC.. with that being said this was so different it was almost funny. Whilst booking, we were able to view videos of rooms, and although I didn't expect an exact replica, it was an entirely different experience then what we were given. Alas, it was definitely not the same. Although the video features a bottle of Dom, do not expect anything aside from a $14 bottle of sparkling Cali wine. There were holes in our towels, and the tissue box had 2 tissues. We had a water bottle in the fridge that was open along with the 'included contents of said fridge'. The jacuzzi didn't work and when trying multiple times, water shot all over the floor. Three light switches didn't work and by 'didn't work' I mean we have no idea what they did. There was no fan in the room and you could only choose between four degrees, 68, 69, 70, and 71. The Tv in the room didnt have any ability to use streaming services, but dont worry, they have hundreds of channels that no one watches for you to choose from. There is actually no chance the television isnt 10 years old. The 'vanity' kit (which included 2 q-tips and one cotton ball) and soaps for the rooms were a joke. Aside from that, the service from the staff was impeccable. All in all, I wouldnt waste my time or money if youre looking for quality. But, if you have money to throw away and need a place to sleep without caring about why youre paying the price you are, you'll have a blast!
My husband and I recently spent our wedding night at Walden Inn and it was nothing short of a completely magical experience! We started our stay out with a couples massage with Chrissy and Andrew. The spa suite was like nothing we had ever seen- a hot tub, shower for 2, and complementary champagne. My husband and I both loved our massages. Chrissy was my therapist and her pressure and technique were amazing. When we checked into the Inn, we were greeted with bright and smiling faces congratulating us on our big day. We stayed in the Bridle suite, which was lovely and well worth the price. The hotel staff shuttled us to and from dinner at the Barn, which was just perfect for our wedding day dinner for two. The most impressive part of our experience was the turndown service done while we were at dinner. We came back to our suite to find romantic tea lights strategically placed around the room and romantic in suite hot tub, a complementary bottle of champagne, and two delicious chocolate covered strawberries. I cannot imagine any other establishment making our day as perfect as the Walden Inn, Spa, and the Barn did. The staff and facilities exceeded our expectations in every way possible. They take such good care of their guests. We plan on returning every year for our anniversary as long as we can. Thank you, Walden!!
