I’ve been going to Dr Shaw for 10 years and he is one of the most caring doctors I’ve ever met in my life. He really cares about his patients and he takes his time with everyone. Some doctors make you make multiple appointments for separate issues, but he treats the whole patient at once. Do bring a book and plan to be there a while, but it’s worth the wait. 😁
Dr John t Shaw is absolutely nothing short of amazing he is very attentive makes me feel comfortable it's very respectful and he cares with his whole heart he is a wonderful doctor and I'm happy to say he's my doctor 💊 !!!!! And on top of him being amazing so are his staff Staci , Jessica , and Beverly Great team and they always make sure I'm taken care of 😊
I will start by saying Dr. Shaw and his staff are incredibly nice human beings and treat patients with respect during their interactions. I also understand many primary care physicians are overwhelmed with patients as Nashville continues to grow. HOWEVER, they are absolutely negligent regarding people’s schedules. I waited over 1 hour past my appointment to get into an examination room. After a total of 2 hours of waiting to be seen by Dr. Shaw for a routine visit, walked out. If you’re looking for an attentive doctor and don’t care if it takes literally an entire day for a routine visit, Dr. Shaw is wonderful. If you care about customer service and a staff that respects your time and honors your scheduled appointments, look elsewhere.

**I found my Doctor for life** For anyone worried about the 1 star reviews — IGNORE them (to be completely fair, yes, the wait was long for me too, but it was because Dr. Shaw is SUCH a thorough and attentive doctor). I don’t even know where to begin… Dr. Shaw is one of the kindest humans I have had the pleasure of meeting. He genuinely took the time to get to know me, my hobbies, where I’m from, etc, which made me feel SO comfortable. When I expressed a concern about a pain I’ve been having, Dr. Shaw took it seriously and immediately ordered multiple tests for me & scheduled a follow up appointment in person to discuss (previously have had a Doctor just waive it away, been over a year and it’s still bothering me, so it felt great to be taken seriously). With Dr. Shaw, I finally felt like “an adult was in the room”!! Dr. Shaw suggested additional blood tests since I’m planning to become pregnant, and even went to get me a protein bar & some water when I mentioned I might get a little faint. I was literally gushing about him to my fiance and best friend after my visit. I’m so so pleased I decided to go visit him. To address the office itself, it is more dated, but please please don’t let that turn you away. I have been to fancy, granite offices & gotten 0/10 healthcare, so I don’t mind a quaint feeling. It’s actually very home-y!
Love my Dr. Shaw! He truly cares about all his patients & his staff does too. He is extremely attentive & has a rapport with his patients that is difficult to find these days. It’s unfortunate that someone would review Dr. Shaw poorly for something so trivial. I had to review after seeing that tangent. You really won’t find a doctor that cares more, for his patients.
