10/5 - The Best! Amazing group of people working here. I had a pretty rough time at my prior dentists office but everyone here was absolutely superb with communication and care for me. Dr. Shaikh was extremely professional and took time to explain everything that was wrong with my teeth and the plans for how to move forward. Eve, Johnnie, and Ivana were all very helpful, friendly, and quick to do whatever possible to help smooth making appointments and answering any concerns I had. Takkia who helped with my scans was exceptional at making me feel comfortable and in good care. I was able to get a cleaning in due to a cancelation. Erica was gentle and took care with performing the cleaning as well as being just as friendly as any other person I saw. This is a group of extremely dedicated people who love their job, and enjoy working with others. Everyone I saw went above and beyond to help and provide care to the people coming in. Which is particularly nice with something that most people don't like having to do! I can't recommend Atlas enough. The new Smithfield location is also very nice and updated so you know you will get the best care on the technological side too. Seriously some of the best people I've ever met and they are at this dentist office!
We had a poor experience with our previous dentist. We searched for a year to find a new Pittsburgh based dental group. Atlas dental got us scheduled quickly. I had my initial intake exam which included X-rays, scans, and a consult with the dentist. They asked if I had time to stay for a cleaning and I said “yes”! So I got everything done in first visit including a dental guard/retainer fitting, which by the way, is prepared using digital video scan of teeth….no goopy gel insert! Yay!

Dr. Kasey Schock did an amazing job fixing my two front teeth in just a couple of hours! I never expected the repairs to look so great! Atlas is a fantastic dental provider!
I just had my first visit here, and it was excellent! Everyone was wonderful, answered any questions I had, and were all very easy to talk to. If you are in search of a new dentist office, I would definitely recommend Atlas Dental.
I will not be returning here for multiple reasons despite the friendly staff and the quality care I received. Because of an inhaler I take, I developed oral thrush which the dentist gave me a prescription to clear up. I was due to come back to get some fillings replaced, but the thrush returned after I finished the course. I called to ask them if I can restart the medicine because I had plenty left, but instead they told me to schedule an appointment with my PCP before the filling appointment to clear it up or else I would have to reschedule my appointment again and the next availability wasn't for a full month. I had already waited a month and a half after the original appointment in February because I got sick with a cold immediately prior. I contacted my PCP and they were surprised that the dentist refused to continue my treatment, but told me I can continue taking the medicine they prescribed. Why couldn't the dentist have simply given me this instruction so I wouldn't have to wait another month to get my fillings? I was planning on coming to my appointment since my thrush cleared up, but I got a text 2 days before my appointment saying the elevators were broken again (my partner who also goes to this dentist ran into the same problem months ago) and I would have to walk up 15 flights of stairs to their office. Maybe if only one of these issues occured I would have stuck it out, but it's not worth it for me to return and gamble each time I have an appointment if I have to walk up 15 flights of stairs or not. Another annoying thing this practice does is they perform your cleaning and exam across two visits instead of doing it all at once. I've never experienced this at any of the many dentists I've been to before. It's unfortunate I had all these issues because they were friendly and really accommodating outside of these experiences.
