Mita's, helmed by **Chef Jose Salazar**, delivers an exceptional tapas experience in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The warm, inviting space sets the perfect stage for sharing plates inspired by Spanish and Latin American flavors. We started with vibrant ceviches—fresh catch of the day in leche de tigre with pomegranate, red onion, and mint—bright and balanced. The brochetas de pollo (chicken thigh skewers) arrived perfectly charred, slathered in black lime-harissa yogurt with guindilla peppers and pistachio dukkah for a delightful crunch and heat. The secreto ibérico pork, marinated and grilled, was tender and smoky, topped with a zesty green sauce and lentils. Highlights included the crispy tostones with guacamole, roasted cabbage with bread sauce and olives, and a stunning cheesecake drizzled in vibrant red sauce—creamy, tangy perfection. Desserts like the light, custardy flan-like pudding rounded out the meal beautifully. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu effortlessly. Portions encourage sharing, making it ideal for groups or date nights. Recently honored on USA Today's 2026 Restaurants of the Year list, Mita's lives up to the acclaim with creative, farm-fresh dishes executed flawlessly. A must-visit for anyone craving bold, soulful flavors.
We visited Mita's during our late fall visit to Cincinnati. Considering that the restaurant is downtown, the logistics are easy, with valet available on-site plus multiple public parking garages and lots in the immediate area. Mita's is a tapas-style restaurant, a dining concept I've really enjoyed ever since being introduced to it at Jose Andres' places. It's the perfect way to eat because it offers the opportunity to sample a wide variety of flavors in one sitting. The restaurant's atmosphere is stunning—high ceilings, beautiful tile work, and a chic, upscale vibe that still feels very warm and inviting. It’s the perfect setting for a special night out. The service matched the atmosphere; our server was patient and attentive, taking the time to explain the menu and to answer questions. We never felt rushed. The pace of the food was on point, so we could actually enjoy each dish as it arrived. Everything we tasted was incredibly fresh and well-prepared. We started with cocktails and a cheese platter, followed by Tostones y Guacamole, Patatas Bravas, and Empanadas De Res Con Pique. The Bocadillos De Hamburguesa and the Salmón Real Salvaje were also standouts. While the portions are quite good for tapas, make sure to save room for dessert. We tried the Pastel de Tres Leches and the Pastel de Almendras. Both were outstanding, though they are definitely shareable—one would have been plenty for two people, but we couldn't resist trying both! Overall, it was a flawless dining experience from start to finish.

Mita’s is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Cincinnati. I like the flexibility of ordering small plates (tapas), rather than a big entree. We arrived at 4pm and sat in the lounge on a Saturday night. We started with a trio of cheeses which was heavenly. Next the seasonal winter salad, followed by their grass-fed sliders (hubby’s favorite). We shared dishes to save room for the Tres Leches cake. This dessert comes in a nice size bowl with a sponge cake in the center surrounded by heavenly milks, caramel and rum. Our server Sophia was warm and friendly and so helpful in describing the dishes. We own Riverside Food Tours and partner with Mita’s when hosting large corporate food tours. Caroline, always makes sure everything goes smoothly. What more could you ask for!
We had a great experience. Food was on point (we tried a few cheeses, the plantains with guacamole, shrimp ceviche and spanish octopus). Drinks were great as well. Special shout-out to our server, Grace, who gave wonderful recommendations and coursed it out perfectly. We will definitely be back!
I've heard about of good things about Mita's and was happy to finally have the chance to try it out. The food was super tasty with great flavors and portion sizes. We ordered the plantains & guac (my fave dish), tomato bruschetta, octopus, tacos, and potatoes. Everything was fantastic and the service was great. Would definitely come back!
