An excellent site to learn about Dr. King's legacy and the history of racial strife in Atlanta, Georgia, and the United States. It is an interesting park that combines the traditional NPS visitor experience with real life in the historic neighborhood that surrounds the area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. All locations were well marked and accessible. Parking was easy and free.
Great experience!!! I took my boys for an educational field trip with their KOP mentorship group. They really enjoyed themselves and walked away learning some history. Everything we did was free at the time. We also visited the Fire Station which was very interesting. The kids enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt. They were still doing construction in the area so we weren’t able to visit all locations. We will probably plan another trip during the summer.

I really enjoyed visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park. It was inspiring, educational, and full of important history. The experience was powerful and well organized, and I learned so much about Dr. King’s life and legacy. Definitely worth visiting.
Absolutely epic and a must stop for everyone on their trip through Atlanta! We rented Uber E bikes and rode all over the historic areas and has an absolute blast. This was one of the highlights unfortunately the house was being reconditioned, but Ebeneezer church was open and went to the memorial and it was absolutely amazing.
I recently explored the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park in Atlanta and found it to be an incredibly moving and enriching experience. The park spans nearly 35 acres in the historic Sweet Auburn district, offering a wide range of landmarks tied to Dr. King’s life—from his childhood home and Ebenezer Baptist Church to the King Center and Freedom Hall. Starting at the Visitor Center, I joined a free ranger-led presentation that provided essential context before touring the birth home and the church. The emotional weight of standing where Dr. King lived and worshiped is truly unforgettable. Highlights include the serene World Peace Rose Garden, the “Behold” statue, the Walk of Fame honoring civil rights leaders, and the final resting place of Dr. and Mrs. King—marked by a reflective Eternal Flame. The park is thoughtfully laid out and very accessible, with plenty of space to reflect, learn, and engage. It’s a vital piece of our nation’s history and a must-visit for anyone in Atlanta.
