We stayed at The Priory Hotel for three nights and absolutely loved it. The building itself is an updated boutique hotel with so much character and the team has done a wonderful job blending historic charm with modern comfort. A special shoutout to Michael, the bartender, who is an absolute treasure. If you stay here, you must spend some time talking with him. His knowledge of the building’s history, the neighborhood, and honestly just life in general made our evening at the Monks' Bar one of the highlights of the trip. He brings the place to life in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the story. If you’re looking for a stay that’s warm, memorable, and uniquely Pittsburgh, The Priory is it.
We had been making regular midweek trips to Pittsburgh from northern Ohio to hit a number of museums and restaurants, always staying at a favorite B&B, now sold and repurposed. A friend recommended we check out The Priory. What a find!! The staff was welcoming, the room was swell, the morning "box lunch" breakfast was perfect, and the "smallest bar in the Commonwealth" as charming as can be. A 10 minute walk from The Warhol, and shouting distance to The Mattress Factory and a favorite Thai restaurant on Western. The old sanctuary, which is now the events space, is stunning and... best of all, the pricing is great. We'll be returning to The Priory, to be sure.

The Priory is a beautiful hotel. We were there for a football game, and we were so happy we booked our accommodations here. We were well cared for, and the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was excellent. They offer a shuttle service to take you to and from the stadium, which made the experience even better. They were very accommodating and took care of us. I had car trouble, and they were kind enough to extend our checkout so we could wait while it was being fixed. The front desk and the hotel experience are kind, caring, and exceptional. I highly recommend it, and we will book again if we're in the area.
Words cannot express how wonderful this hotel is! From the room, to the staff, to the food, it is HANDS DOWN the best hotel I've EVER stayed in Pittsburgh. (I'm also pressed to say ANYWHERE!) Nothing can beat the rate, the cleanliness, the friendliness of staff, and overall hospitality The Priory provides. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
The Priory Hotel is one of the most unique and charming places I’ve ever stayed. The building’s history as a former church and monastery gives it so much character—you can really feel the story in its architecture and details. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out, making me feel genuinely welcome. Breakfast was delicious, with good variety to start the day. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, green, and the perfect place to relax with a coffee in the morning. Overall, The Priory Hotel offers a combination of history, hospitality, and comfort. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pittsburgh looking for a memorable experience!
