I had the best stay at The Ardent Hotel. The location is perfect—right downtown and close to everything, yet it still felt peaceful and cozy. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with such a curated, boutique feel. Every detail felt intentional and elevated. As someone staying there by myself, I also want to highlight how safe and comfortable I felt the entire time. That peace of mind made my stay even better. The restaurant was incredible as well—amazing food, great atmosphere, and truly a standout part of the experience. If you’re looking for a stylish, thoughtfully designed hotel with a great downtown location and a welcoming, safe vibe, I can’t recommend The Ardent enough. I would absolutely stay here again.
We have stayed twice so far and had great experiences both times. Great location for seeing shows at Schuster or Victoria Theatre. Highly recommend Bistecca, the staff are so kind and friendly and the food is excellent. Definitely make dinner reservations if you are staying over the weekend, as they do get quite busy. Valet staff are also great. Most recently Logan helped us, and she is very nice and efficient. I have not noticed any cleanliness issues that other reviewers mention, so it seems this has been addressed. Overall, Ardent is definitely our hotel of choice when staying in Dayton.

So so, checked in a day before actual arrival. Arrived at 11:00PM, still had to go to the front desk as they need to issue a physical key before they issue digital keys. The key did not work and I had to make multiple trips back to the front desk. Eventually, the front desk said they could get me in the room and they would get maintenance to fix what they thought was a low battery on the room lock and they would fix it the following morning as they did not want to call maintenance at night. Accepted that as an answer. The following morning, went downstairs asking when maintenance would fix the door a d they said whenever maintenance got in. Went to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant where I was given a credit on top of the $15 food and beverage credit to use towards breakfast. Still hours later no maintenance fixing the door. The credit for breakfast was nice-ish but understand that it does nothing for me as I am on work travel and I expense everything anyways. Plus at the restaurant, the single person working front of house was being overrun which led to the wrong drink being brought out, and inaccurate order and it taking an hour to eat. Next time I will stay down the street at the Hilton Garden Inn instead. Update, this went fron 3 stars to now 1 star. I had a work function for almost the entire day since I know they were going to work on the door I intentionally left the do not disturb sign off of the door. Came back to find my key still not working. Had to go to the front desk again and they had setup new keys, would be nice to have sent a message in the app telling people that they should show up to the front desk to pickup keys but they did not as opposed to having people go to the room to try the key and then go to the front desk. Arrived at the room and it was partially worked on by housekeeping. In 99% of hotels, they can get all of the housekeeping done on that time but not at this hotel. Asked via the chat what was going on and they said they could get housekeeping"to do it now". Told them I no longer want the service. They came knocking on the door and I chose not to answer and they called the room.phone and I hung up on them. Too little, too late.
Do not go here!! UPDATE: one of the charges was finally corrected. Doesn’t change my opinion of the place though. Double Charged!! Waste of money and time! We booked online through the Hilton app and used the digital key to get into the room. Opened the door to find the room still dirty. Sheets balled up, obviously never cleaned. Go down to the desk and the woman (middle aged white woman, short hair, glasses) acted annoyed. While she may have just been annoyed that it wasn’t clean, she sure didn’t even so much as apologize to us. Then gave us a worse room with a view of the ac system which felt like a dungeon, instead of the theatre view we reserved. We order food from the restaurant where they say they are too busy to bring to the room. Fine, I come down to get it. We ordered a $60 steak that comes in a cardboard box with no utensils, napkins, plate, no ketchup for fries. Wasn’t even good. Whole trip was a waste of money. When I checked out I asked the one nice person there about if there is a price difference in theatre view vs what we got and she didn’t know but said the gm would call. Of course he didn’t. Checked my bank and we were charged twice for the meal. I called and had to leave a message. Still has not been fixed. BEWARE!!
Sheridan at the front desk definitely went above and beyond to make my stay a great one. She’s very positive and cares about her customers. Not sure when she sleeps as I saw her at 1:00am, 7:00am and lunch… she had a great attitude every interaction… She’s an outstanding representative for your great hotel.
