Never coming back to timber dental. Today was the last straw when they wouldn’t let me keep my appointment by the minute. I was stuck in traffic so they called to confirm I was on my way, and I walked in right at cut off (15min). I’m not sure what difference one minute makes at this point. They really wasted an hour of my time driving all the way here for nothing and had no consideration in offering arrangements. On another note, I think the dental care is fine, and the medical staff is kind and competent. The doctors and hygienists have always been really good. My problem is with the business and the administrative side. First, the « prescription » toothpaste they sell costs me half the price and is OTC in Canada which I think is unbelievable (sold for 30$ at this clinic). Regarding the front desk, I have found them unhelpful if not incompetent and rude on multiple occasions. They called my dad to confirm my appointment even though my phone number was on file? Last year, our insurance reimbursed hundreds of dollars more than anticipated and they made getting that money back very difficult. My family member received orthodontic treatment at the other office and the doctor referred her to the ONLY out of network doctor they have. It feels like they focus on maximizing profits from customers rather than caring for their patients.
So I had my first appointment today at Timber Dental and I was a little nervous! I switched clinics because my job had switched dental insurance companies and I wasn’t really sure what to expect from a new place (and on top of that I was late!!! Such a bad way to make a first impression.) I have to say though, this was a net positive. Everyone was so friendly, kind and understanding and I have to just sing praises for my Hygienist Lou! (I hope I spelled that right.) Lou was genuinely so funny, made the whole appointment feel like a breeze. She also gave me some excellent advice in regards to flossing, and even how to brush hard to reach parts of my teeth. I told her I had issues with my gag reflex and she was very attentive, light handed and came up with creative ways to distract me from the issue as well. Probably the best hygienist I’ve ever seen, I have to give her a 10/10. I’d highly recommend this place.

Dr. Nguyen was amazing, very helpful, thoughtful, and cared about my comfortability. Raina was very kind and helpful as well. Adrianna is a total gem, she cares so much, and tried to help me find the best way to budget my needs. Overall staff is sweet and supportive. Genuinely feel cared about.
Just moved to Portland and got established with a new Dentist here. Loved the clinic, very friendly and professional staff! Rose was amazing and explained everything very thoughtfully and was super efficient. They took lots of imaging and the dentist was very thorough and honest with his review, made a plan immediately, and got referrals written up right away. My work schedule is a little weird and they were super polite and happy to accommodate for my cleaning appointment!
Originally yes it was 5 stars. I could never be more thankful for them being able to get me in same day and fixing my completely cracked crown back in January. I will always appreciate that. However it was my last visit in February that has caused the 1 star. I went in for a cleaning and a filling. After the cleaning the hygienist went to give me the local anesthetic and hit the nerve. I instantly had the worst pain in my mouth that I've ever experienced. She pulled back, I explained what happened. While incredibly numb. She went in for a second shot. I was moved to the next room for my filling and let the dentist know what happened and she said "Oh! She's just too good at her job!" The laughing, the joking, not one single apology is the reason I am giving this 1 star. I get it. It can totally happen hitting a nerve I get that, accidents happen however now 2 months later, the numbness is back and I have to deal with a oral specialist to assess the nerve damage. It's the lack of apology and just thinking it was funny. The thought of having to get another shot of anesthetic terrifies me as I don't want that feeling ever again. Not to mention the next hygienist who was helping with the filling kept hitting the back of my mouth with the suction. I get you were trying to ensure pieces didn't fall down my throat but when one physically stops you because you are hitting their gag reflex, please just listen. I was about to throw up with how often you were hitting it. Unfortunately my experience with Timber Dental went from 5 stars to 1 in two appointments.
