Took my Honda wagon to them. Joe was the service advisor I had the please of doing business with. He kept me informed throughout the process my car was there. While on a family Summer 2026 trip to Nashville TN (250 miles from home), we checked in late Sunday night into our downtown Airbnb and our 2019 GMC Yukon Denali suddenly starting skipping, misfiring, and knocking while parking the SUV at the end of the long drive in. Honestly, it felt like we were about to be faced with unexpected major engine repair and our upcoming plans for visiting the Nashville & Franklin areas each day were replaced by thoughts of Uber rides, a one-way rental car home, and GMC dealership prices and service delays. ChatGPT and Google Gemini had assisted in mapping out our daily itinerary and finding the perfect Airbnb near downtown, so when AI was updated with our SUV misfortune while out of town - Phoenix Auto Repair was recommended top of the list ahead of the GMC dealerships for reliable, expert service along with the tight timeline required to (hopefully) get us diagnosed and back on the road while during our short 5-day visit to Nashville. Brad, our Service Advisor at Phoenix Auto Repair, did an absolute phenomenal job on Monday morning assisting us with writing up a timely diagnosis and working the process of getting us a comprehensive estimate of the required repairs and optional recommended service for our consideration while they had the vehicle. Phoenix Auto Repair was able to perform a multi-point inspection on our SUV and ultimately determined that the root cause of our poor engine performance turned out to be plug wire to cylinder #5 caught a metal bracket on the steering column and was ripped apart (pictured) while we were maneuvering into our downtown hotel parking spot late Sunday night. I was able to work with Brad and the Phoenix Auto Repair team to review the required repair estimate, consider any other optional service such as full synthetic oil change, new engine air filter or rear brakes, and approve or decline each of the service line items all from the mobile phone by Monday afternoon. Phoenix Auto Repair definitely went above and beyond for me and my family to turn our diagnosis and ultimately our approved repairs around as quickly as possible, especially given the fact that we were 250 miles from home and local GMC dealership service departments would typically be up to one week out on diagnosis and repair estimates. Brad and the Phoenix team operate like an innovative well trained family of auto service and customer service professionals, and I would recommend Phoenix Auto Repair to anyone in and around the Nashville TN area - even if you're just in town for a few days and the unexpected check engine or oil service light comes on while touring music city. Brad and the Phoenix team had us back touring downtown Broadway Blvd and the historic Franklin area by Tuesday, which saved us hundreds if not a thousand dollars or more in a one-way car rental home and waiting on a Nashville GMC dealership for diagnosis and repair.
