Our experience here was absolutely amazing! When we first arrived at night, we have to admit, it looked a little intimidating since we were coming from out of town. But we decided to give it a chance, and we’re so glad we did because we instantly fell in love with the place. From the moment we walked in, Jannel and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, as did the other guests. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and full of character. The beds were super comfortable, and the breakfast in the great room was simply superb. This spot is perfect for exploring Pittsburgh, especially the South Side, it’s filled with great food, local charm, and not too many tourists. We walked all around the neighborhood; even the darker streets that seemed a bit intimidating at first turned out to be completely safe and peaceful. If I could, I’d rent the entire place for a weekend getaway with my family and friends. The energy, comfort, and hospitality make it truly special. I can’t wait to come back again! Thank you to everyone: From us, the proud Packers & Vikings fans! 💚💜
The Traveler's Rest is a great place to stay if you enjoy warm hospitality and the chance to meet other guests in a handsome common area. It is especially attractive for cyclists planning to ride the Great Allegheny Passage. It offers storage space for bikes, a free breakfast and owner/hosts who know everything about the trail and about Pittsburgh. The rooms are comfortable but quirky. It does not feel like a chain hotel, and that is half the charm of the Traveler's Rest.

I just stayed at the Traveler’s Rest as part of a 2 Wheel Escapes tour. My favorite place by far that we stayed. Paul, Mary Beth and Peabody were wonderful hosts. The building is an amazing structure and they have created a very welcoming, comfortable and cozy place to end your or start your day. It is a great place for cyclists as they have a nice garage space for you to store your bike. Thanks so much for your hospitality!
The best place to stay if youre coming into the city to bike and have an adventure. The stay exceeded our expectation. The staff was extremely friendly and the amenities provided were helpful, very grateful. Convent location close to the trail. Very clean and comfortable. We loved the vibe and layout. Keep it up what youre doing is working. We will be spreading the word and recommending to all our friends.
This hotel was used for us to start our GAP trail trip. My only regret was not staying here one extra day to explore Pittsburgh a bit as we got there late and just slept there. The value of this place is insane for what we paid for. We got the 4 twin bed option and the mattresses were very comfortable. Breakfast was great. The best part for us was the bike storage garage.
