Marriott should be ashamed to have their name on this hotel. Motel is a better description. We had stayed here about six years ago and vowed then to never come back (it was rundown). Unfortunately, when I was making the reservation for this stay I saw that the website said 'Newly Remodeled' - but I was looking at the wrong hotel. I did not know there are two RI in Buckhead. I reserved the wrong one and there has not been any remodeling in this one a long, long time. The exterior is dilapidated and the wood railings are completely rotted. The room was not better. See the pictures for details of a few conditions in the bathroom area. The staff was nice. In addition to the awful conditions, the keys to our room would not work. Maintenance did not show up after check in to fix it. They arrived the following morning but were unable to fix the lock. WE NEVER HAD A KEY THAT WORKED. We check out and went to a better hotel. (Kimpton) This was a miserable experience that cost us $350 for one terrible night. ($150 for our 12 lb dog). I describe myself as a Marriott girl. I know now that I need to be careful when reserving and be sure to check the reviews more closely. They are not all created equal as I had thought. I am now more interested in the IHG hotel family as our stay at Kimpton was fabulous.
Basically on vacation with my family and my brothers surprised me with a NFL game live. After the game we came here for the night because one of them had an early flight. I was very much impressed with the room since I had been hotel hopping around Augusta and Savanna. The kitchen was nice and the two bathrooms (one upstairs) were extremely nice and clean. The bed was super comfortable and I was just overall impressed. The breakfast was the standard staple. So I wasn’t expecting something to knock my socks off. The location was just as nice but yet busy. Since I don’t know the area all too well my brother was saying this was a sort of high end area. Since this was only an overnight stay it would only be fair to comment on that. I didn’t get to explore much because it was raining. Overall it’s a business hotel but I could see myself and family here if we visited again.

It's close to many things but the area is very busy hard to get on and out of location unless going toward Downtown. Lots of traffic at this location as well. But lots of accomodations so you really don't have to use a car unless you are going away for a night out. This is a very homey and cozy complex I don't feel like a million people can come on and out in one night even though they might you just don't get that vibe. Very nice breakfast spreads daily. Lots of rooms are getting better with this I'm glad.... but I admit this one is one of the best breakfast spreads I've seen as a daily accomodations, it's seminar banquet level. The staff are all pleasant . No weirdo antics just a great stay all together. Thanks Bonvoy! No pics I was too relaxed sorry
DO NOT stay here. This is a motel and located in an unsafe area for families. Homeless were walking around the rooms at night and yelling in the street. We had a to change our room twice due to the odor and the carpet saturated with water. The toilets did not properly flush, and we did not take a shower for two days. The water was a solid brown color from the shower. The WIFI in the rooms did not work. The breakfast was terrible as well as the overall service. As a frequent traveler (over 40 hotels a year), I can easily confirm this is the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at. An embarrassment to the Bonvoy portfolio. Avoid at all cost.
I will not be staying here again. The property is pretty dated. Very sketchy at night with lots of salacious activities and they charge for parking but I noticed the parking lot was always overcrowded at night with many cars not having a parking pass; so it seems parking should be complimentary. I was very glad that I didn't park a car there (until I realized they charged me for parking anyway; and refused to refund the charges). They also added a $150 pet charge to my account. They removed the charge after I called but never offered any kind of apology or explained how this mistake would've realistically happened. The ladies who checked me in were very nice, and Miss Gwen the housekeeper was very pleasant but there was a black male employee that needs to find a job more suited to his attitude.
