The customer service was top notch from the moment we hit the door! Everyone was super nice and accommodating! The food was delicious. Now the only, only issue was the catfish was swai. I usually ask but assumed it would be the American. And what made up for it was that it was seasoned extremely well, so I was forgiving. The waitstaff checked back in throughout the meal. When I come back to Cincinnati, this is it!!!
Soul Secrets was an absolute gem! We stopped in during our trip to Cincinnati for my son’s college tour at Xavier, and everything was amazing. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned perfectly, the fried catfish was delicious, and the candied yams, mac and cheese, and green beans were all full of rich homemade flavor. Every dish tasted like true comfort food made with love. The food, the flavor, and the overall experience were all 5-star worthy. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Cincinnati!

Soul Secrets absolutely lived up to the hype! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and you could tell this place is built on passion and pride. The owner Candice was incredibly gracious and made us feel like family. It’s clear she pours her heart into every aspect of the restaurant. I ordered the fried catfish with collard greens, black-eyed peas and rice, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and a cornbread muffin, and topped it all off with the banana pudding for dessert. Every single item was outstanding! The catfish was seasoned and fried to perfection with a crispy coating and tender, flaky fish inside. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The collard greens were perfectly seasoned, the black-eyed peas and rice tasted like true Southern comfort, and the potato salad was homemade and delicious. The cornbread was moist with just the right touch of sweetness. Then came the banana pudding… without question, one of the best I’ve ever had. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. If you’re looking for authentic soul food made with love, Soul Secrets is a must-visit. Huge portions, incredible flavors, outstanding hospitality, and an owner who truly cares about her customers. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Cincinnati! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The food came out quick. Everything was good. I did ask for another cornbread muffin….jambalaya was spicy with okra, chicken was moist, whiting was seasoned well. Meatloaf was good the chicken was well seasoned.
Let Me Be Dramatic & As Clear As Possible about SouL Secrets! That SOULFOOD & DINING EXPERIENCE WAS a ELEVATED Experience with Food that was WORTH WAITING FOR. THEY PERFECTLY COOKED EACH ITEM ON THE MENU ! NOTHING was average tasting. They definitely served A DELICIOUS Dollar Well Spent take on Soulfood that tastes even better than your own Grandma's !!! Clean the bone Good! Had to start eating b4 I too pics! Oops! 😅🤣 Service that was WORTH TIPPING! Thank you Ahmyah the waitress, & the Owner Candace for that family Warming Vibe !! Ask Candace what the art on the walls in there is about) .. The 6 generations of Women Artwork! Will be back again & again!
