Went for my birthday, service was perfect. My first filet was tough so I sent it back. Second filet was better but still not good, but I didn't want to send it back again. Also got a glass that was cracked. The dress code was disappointing as there were baseball hats and people dressed like they were at Texas Roadhouse. The white cheddar mashed potatoes were amazing and the brownie dessert was decadent. After dining at other local places that the food was far superior, I'm not sure I would return here.
Great food, our server Nick was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We were seated on the back patio / terase which was lovely
Cleveland Chop is a standout destination in a city where finding a truly top-tier steakhouse can often feel like a challenge. For anyone on a quest to curate a "Top 10" list of steakhouses from city to city, this spot firmly establishes itself as a leading contender for the best all-around steakhouse in Cleveland. The experience strikes a perfect balance in atmosphere. It avoids the stuffiness of overly exclusive, white-tablecloth establishments, instead offering a vibe that is simultaneously sophisticated enough for a special occasion and approachable enough for an upscale bar experience. The service is where the evening truly begins to shine. On a recent visit for a birthday celebration, the staff displayed an impressive ability to read the room, matching the high energy of the group without missing a beat. Most importantly, the pacing of the meal was flawless. Drinks and courses arrived at the table with precision—fast enough to keep the celebration moving, but never so quickly that the food felt like it had been languishing under a heat lamp. While many diners might overlook a Caesar salad as a standard starter, the version here is a must-try. The flavor profile is excellent, but the real star is the croutons; the texture and seasoning elevate the dish far beyond the typical steakhouse offering. The highlight, of course, is the steak. The Prime New York Strip, ordered medium, was a masterclass in execution. It arrived with a perfect crust and a deep, rich flavor that remained consistent from the first slice to the last bite. The interior was a flawless medium temperature throughout. Accompanying the steak was a loaded baked potato that was generously sized for one person, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. To finish the meal, the key lime pie provides the perfect citrusy counterpoint to a heavy steak dinner—refreshing and exactly what was needed to hit the spot. For those who haven't visited since the location’s days as "The Chophouse" in the early 2000s, the evolution of this space is remarkable, yet maintains its high standard. It is a 10-out-of-10 experience that leaves you feeling completely satisfied. If the consistency holds, Cleveland Chop isn't just a great local choice—it’s a premier steakhouse by any standard.

It had been a while since we went to Cleveland Chop, so when we went in last week we thought we'd just get a drink and an appetizer and move on. Jason, at the bar, made us such a delicious basil gimlet that we decided to stay right where we were! We had some very good and very big shrimp cocktail, and since we were on foot ordered another gimlet, which was even better than the first one! It had been a while since we had steak anywhere, but because they had a 6oz. option, we decided to order fillets and their cheddar mashed potatoes. Jason asked if we liked cornbread, and the look on my face told him yes, so he surprised us with a complimentary order served in a warm skillet. Yum! One of the reasons we're eating less steak is because it never seems to be cooked right the first time. Here, both our steaks came out exactly as we ordered them, and they were delicious. We are very glad we ended up dining at Cleveland Chop, and will definitely return their often on our getaways to Cleveland.
We're from out of state and hosted a private business luncheon at Cleveland Chop. Margaret and the staff went above and beyond, accommodating and rescheduling us when travel issues forced a cancellation. Our guests loved the quality of the food and service, as well as how upscale, clean, and inviting the restaurant is. It was an excellent setting for our luncheon, including reliable HDMI access for our presentation. We will definitely return and highly recommend Cleveland Chop. Thanks again!
