Honestly, Not what I was expecting. The photos dont really explain the layout, show a pool and a beach. Nothing states you will need a 4x4 to get to your cabin or risk ripping the oil pan off your car to get to it. Nothing explains that you have to go down a 400' long hill to get to the beach once you arrive. The pool is not functioning, the fence was all broken around it to see weeds growing and no water in the pool. Signs on building noting not stable to enter. It has great potential, just so run down. The cost of a cabin with literally Zero Expected amenities was truly disappointing. The cabins are not near the water and are on a hill. If you are lucky you may get a deck. maybe not. The cabins seem newer. The sheets and blankets are little to be desired, I recommend bringing your own. As noted by others , the water is not potable. Thank goodness I read that in other reviews or I would have never known. Glasses available were dirty. Found a few bugs in my room, but it is a cabin surrounded by woods, so I guess a couple is to be expected. We checked in, left to go fish somewhere else, came back, showered (not enough hot water to provide back to back showers for 2 people) and then left again for dinner, then bed and then checked out. We were so unimpressed, we did nothing there but sleep and shower and the loud partying at the other cabins was also disppointing. Def not worth $400 a night. For what? There was literally nothing enjoyable about this place. Ewww.
My experience It is easy to find the place, you enter by a narrow street, when you are almost at the place there are a lot of holes in the way. The property looks a little abandoned, but when you enter the cabin it is as described, it is well maintained, the bed and pillows are very comfortable, but the sofa is not very comfortable and it doesn’t feel very stable. In the bathroom, the sink was uncomfortable because it was inclined and it looked like it was going to fall. The view and proximity to the lake was perfect. I would improve the parking space and the signs because they were not very clear. And the Wi-Fi is not very good. I booked the cabin for three nights, we arrived on Friday afternoon and the lake was not that full, but on Saturday and Sunday it was packed. And I wondered where all the people came from. The parking lot was full of cars, the people on the lake had speakers blasting music and some people were smoking and having fights. Sunday night, the police arrived and made all the people who had no reservation leave the property and the whole parking lot was emptied out. This made me think is the place actually private or not? I really liked the cabin and the place but because of what happened Sunday night and because I couldn’t have a peaceful day in the lake because it was crowded, I would think twice about staying in this place again.

We expected more for what we paid. My husband and I decided to give this place a try for our wedding anniversary after reading reviews. The cabin we stayed in was nice but we did have to rewash some of the “clean” dishes despite being charged for cleaning fees. The property itself is very outdated. There was barely any seating available out in the public/beach areas. The boat dock almost looked abandoned; the trashcan out there looked like it had not been emptied in weeks. Their pontoon rentals were not in service, there were no ice bags available for purchase & Netflix would not work on our TV although their website advertises them all. We did notify the front desk about the TV but no one ever came to take a look. I’m not sure if we just went during off season but we didn’t have a great experience & we will most likely not be returning. We travel quite often & don’t complain much but we figured others could find this honest review helpful.
Our stay at "Long Cove Resort & Marina" was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The check in process was incredibly easy and convenient. Since we arrived after 5:00 p.m., the resort sent all of the check in instructions by email. It was fast, simple, and completely hassle free, making for a smooth start to our getaway. The cabins look exactly like the photos online but honestly, they're even better in person! They felt more spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly cozy. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating a relaxing experience. The lakefront setting is absolutely breathtaking. Sitting by the water brings such a peaceful, serene feeling that allows you to disconnect from the busyness of life and simply reconnect with yourself, your family, or your partner. It's truly a hidden gem on Lake Wylie. The resort also offers a private beach, marina, and beautiful outdoor spaces that make it easy to enjoy the scenery. We loved that there were grills available for guests, making it perfect for a fun day of grilling and spending quality time together. The property is very family-friendly, but it's also an ideal destination for couples looking for a quiet, romantic escape. One of my favorite things about this resort is that it feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle, giving you peace and privacy, yet you're still just a short drive from shopping, restaurants, and everything Charlotte has to offer. It's truly the best of both worlds. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a couples' retreat, or just need a peaceful weekend away, I highly recommend Long Cove Resort & Marina.
Wow! Resort fee should never be allowed by the Department of Lodging and Tourism. This place is a perfect example of false advertising. See the pictures and read my review; the lake w out door camp is a rental so don't expect to walk on the lake or sit outside to enjoy it. The kids swings are broken. We are fortunate my son didn't get hurt. The swimming pool has been out of commission for years. No boats to rents: 4 months in shpo sounds fishy! Nail on boards alll over property Holes on the ground. The road , location of cabins, is gravel and lots of potholes. The road to the cabins not Resort is so damaged we put a dent on our rental. Part of the Resort is unstable and unsafe including the platform by the campfire. Most of the grills didn't work Every person/ family that arrived around the same time, left the next day or the day after. This cabin lot is not a resort! No money back policy because once you get there you want to leave. The owner should not be allowed to rent this facility; not am employees issue but owner.
