I've come here with my kids about a dozen times the past two years. Pros: In general, it's a good spot to entertain my kids and it's affordable. They change exhibits from time to time, which is great. We love the music room and wind tubes area. I also appreciate that there's a nice nursing room for moms with littles. Cons: Restrooms are a long walk from everything (not great for newly potty trained toddlers)! And some areas seem a little dirty, but that's maybe to be expected at children's museums. Also we're members - we were surprised and a little offput when we found out there weren't any discounts to attend the museum's special events for members. Overall the museum is worth checking out for littles (ages 18 months to 8), but there are some minor downsides.
I took my granddaughter for a preschool field trip. Cute little place for that age group.

We loved our visit to Akron Children’s Museum. It was a little tricky to find, but staff were helpful and welcoming. I was surprised at how many different engaging exhibits they had given space limitations. We easily spent two hours there. The baby nursery/doctor’s office, build your own rocket, and music room were some highlights. Great for our kids ages 2 and 5.
Definitely not the largest or the fanciest childrens museum, but very good use of space with great activities. A very good array of different play/pretend/STEM-focused areas/stations. Really impressed. A good model to follow for smaller cities. Our kiddo enjoyed it so much he was kicking and screaming when it was time to leave.
This was our first time at Akron Children’s Museum (ACM). When we go to a new place as a family, our first concern is always the accessibility of the place. We were thankful to find that the whole of the museum was accessible to our little girl who is in a wheelchair. There is an elevator that leads to the ACM, upon entering we were told there was a family restroom with a universal changing table, which we were personally grateful for. There are a number of sections that our sensory seeking little one could enjoy - including an actual sensory/quiet room, a wind/scarves section that she loved and music room. Beyond this, there is a cafeteria, birthday room, and many other fun stations for young children. Our oldest is 7 and he still had a lot of fun, we could have spent much more time there than we did. Overall a wonderful day trip!
