I had a wonderful experience with The English Contractor. From my initial phone call through the end of the project, the team was responsive and attentive. I had zero complaints during my remodel and all work was done to the highest quality. I have recommended them to friends and look forward to using The English Contractor again in the future!
This is the award winning company you want when doing any kind of remodeling. Craig the owner goes above and beyond to make sure his customer are more than satisfied. There work has been featured on DIY channel as well as local news, HDTV, and they did the remodel for the urban oasis Cincinnati home giveaway. They are the right choice when having any kind of remodeling or additions to your home or business.

This place is awesome
I hired this contractor based on positive—but very old—reviews and an initially strong impression from Jen and Craig. They presented themselves as professional, detail-oriented, and committed to quality. Early communication was solid, and I chose them over lower bids expecting a smoother, higher-value experience. The project started reasonably well, and some team members were kind and professional. However, once the work moved into design, tiling, and finishing, everything began to unravel. There were repeated measurement errors and basic mistakes that caused constant delays and rework: incorrect tile quantities and sizes, poor installation, and even a mismeasured window that was installed smaller and off-center. Nearly every phase required corrections. Other ongoing issues included poor craftsmanship, missed details, lack of coordination, and inconsistent communication. Weekly meetings were canceled, messages were disorganized, and progress was slow despite aggressive billing. Work was often incomplete or done incorrectly—leading to damage, such as a leaking water filter affecting new cabinetry. Design coordination was also lacking, resulting in major issues like countertops being remade and misaligned lighting. Instead of taking responsibility, blame was often shifted to other vendors or even to me. Requests for corrections were frequently met with delays or dismissive responses. The project is now nearly two months behind schedule, causing significant stress, added living expenses, and multiple postponed move-in dates. My home remains incomplete, with missing cabinetry, unfinished installations, and ongoing repairs needed due to mishandling of new furnishings. At this point, I no longer want this company working on my home. The consistent pattern was delays, poor execution, and resistance to accountability. For a contractor that claims to value craftsmanship and professionalism, this experience has been extremely disappointing.
