Theodora was our server and she was amazing! Suggested food for us to try to start with and all the food was soooooo good! Perfect sizes so you can sample everything. My faves were the shrimp & grits, Balkan burger, Mac & cheese and the waffles! We were here to celebrate my birthday and it was my 1st time. Definitely coming back
We had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was outstanding — incredibly вкусно, diverse, and honestly surprisingly high-level for the U.S. It truly felt like a real European dining experience, and my husband and I were genuinely impressed. Every dish was top quality, and the cocktails and desserts were just as exceptional. A special thank you to our waiter Marco — he made our evening unforgettable. Attentive, professional, and truly excellent at what he does. We will definitely be coming back!

We had an incredible experience at Ambar! The food was absolutely delicious, each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. A big shoutout to the entire team for their outstanding service. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and truly made our morning even more enjoyable. The non-alcoholic drinks were just as impressive and perfectly crafted. I highly recommend Ambar for brunch. The vibrant atmosphere was fun, energetic, and filled with a great crowd. It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to!
We had a fantastic lunch at AMBAR! We did the unlimited option which was a great deal for downtown Chicago and the amazing quality of food. The indoor area is full of hanging flowers and decor that make you feel like you’re on a getaway and the patio was beautiful too with plenty of seating. Our server Brayan hooked us up with recommendations for things not to miss on the menu (even we couldn’t try EVERYTHING in one go) and was prompt and friendly. All of the wait staff was friendly and several people checked in to put in additional drink orders or take plates. Everything we had was good, though I particularly liked the croquettes, roasted lamb and the drunken mussels. The kebabs, potato wedges, and brussel sprouts were also a hit for the whole table. Good sized plates for sharing but not so big you can’t try a lot of things. Just FYI on the unlimited drinks- only for brunch and dinner not lunch ☹️ but lunchtime has its own happy hour and the drinks were good! Loved the kiwi smash (even not as a big gin fan), and the white sangria and amber beer were sooo good too. Highly recommend and will have to try the brunch!
overall, just a terrible dining experience. my group and i showed up for the $55/person ayce option. when we showed up, we were told that we had a 2hr limit which we thought was fine. our issue was with the service. our first order included just starters. food was coming out from time to time and we were having a pretty good experience until one of the food runners dropped steak tartare onto one of us and didn’t even apologize. all we got was more and more bread that we didn’t ask for. we were ready to place in our first round of entrees, but our server ignored us for a whole hour. with only an hour left, we finally placed our first round of entrees. after the first couple of main dishes that came out, we saw how small the portions were and wanted to place more. our server was really dismissive and kept telling us “there’s still so much food coming” and wouldn’t add more to our order. towards the end of our dining experience, we were being rushed to leave. it got to the point where our server finger-snapped at us and told us we needed to hurry since our time was up. the food was alright, the quality went downhill after the first round. the best item was the drunken mussels, but honestly i’d save your money and go elsewhere
