We gave this place a try after reading reviews and we were not disappointed! It was not crowded when we arrived as it was a Tuesday night, but I made reservations just in case. The atmosphere is casual but elegant, the wait staff was very friendly and made great recommendations, and the food was delicious. We did find that the wait to get out food was a bit longer than we expected. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and by the time we ordered and waited for food to come out, it was 8:40pm. But the staff was attentive the entire night and over all we enjoyed our experience. We were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant was kind enough to put a happy birthday card on our table for our arrival. I definitely recommend trying the roasted butternut squash! It's fantastic!
Nice but pretty expensive. We went with the table servings that we shared between our group of 6. This was nice because several of our party were light eaters. Two table size entrees and two side portions could be shared between 3-4 people. Food was delicious. I missed taking photo of the cornbread, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes….sorry. Standard mixed drink prices were fine, specialty drinks could cost twice the standard drinks. Still a nice place for a special occasion.

Had a great time celebrating a birthday at Velvet Cellar. The staff were very attentive. The food was decent. Very intimate atmosphere and very private especially for someone who is neurodivergent or has social anxiety
Highly recommended. A nice atmosphere with tremendous food and a great wine list. We had the baby back ribs and the parpadelle along with a red flight that included a few nice wines including a Chilean from Colchagua and an Italian Rosso. The Ube brulee was an unexpected take on this classic dessert. Terrific dining experience.
My friend and I met at Velvet Cellar a couple of weeks ago for happy hour, and I can't stop thinking about it, so I thought I'd leave a review. Neither of us had been there before; we chose it because of walkability from Union Station (my friend rode the bus down from Boulder). She arrived before me and texted me, "This place is gorgeous!" So, atmosphere: 5 star. We were in a side booth, quiet and lovely with views of the city and a really comfortable banquette. Our server Erica was so knowledgeable (and very patient to two friends who couldn't stop talking in order to peruse the menu). We both enjoyed wine; Erica's recs were great. We shared two HH items: green chili hummus and the fried mushrooms (my favorite). We also shared a crab cake off the main menu. Everything was wonderful. Can't wait to go back for a full meal.
