We traveled here in late January. They upgraded us to the top floor, which was nice. The room was upward of $525 per night, plus the resort fee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The buffet every morning was nice — the usual you’d find at any Hyatt resort. The hotel is within walking distance of Gainey Village, with many places to eat if you don’t want to dine at the hotel.
The location is gorgeous with top notch amenities. Great service all around and thoroughly enjoyed food and drinks. I was on a work trip so I did not appreciate how loud the courtyard area was when trying to rest/sleep (my room overlooked this area). The pillows may be the most uncomfortable - a general consensus with all of my co-workers - so that contributed to the restless stay. Overall a great resort, but may not be my first choice if I head back that way.

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale from February 22–25 using a Guest of Honor award with Explorist status. The resort grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and overall we enjoyed our stay. We visited during the week while two conferences were happening back to back, which meant the hotel was at full capacity. Even with that, the pool areas and evening restaurants never felt overly crowded. One thing to be aware of is that several on-site restaurants were closed on Sunday and Monday, which limited dining options during our stay. Because of the conferences and high occupancy, we did not receive an upgrade despite GOH status. It was a little disappointing but understandable given how full the resort was. There was also lots of confusion amongst staff on breakfast benefit, front desk at check-in told us $44, the host at mesa central told us $30, and our server told Us $44. I reconfirmed with the front desk during our stay was told it’s $44. The club lounge was decent but not exceptional. Happy hour runs from 5–7 PM and included light appetizers such as sandwiches, salad, fruit, and wings. Breakfast was fairly basic with mostly bagels and packaged cereal, and the 11 AM snack was mainly chips, candy, and trail mix. Ice cream was available from 8–9 PM. Beer and wine were offered at a discount ($9–$10), though the selection and quality felt average for the price. The staff throughout the resort were very friendly and accommodating, which really stood out. The location feels somewhat secluded compared to other parts of Scottsdale, but Kierland and Scottsdale Quarter are only a short drive away. Overall, it’s a nice property with beautiful grounds and good service. Just go in with realistic expectations for the lounge offerings and dining availability, especially during conference heavy weeks.
The facility/complex is spacious, modern and enjoyable. Everything is top-notched. My wife and I enjoyed (tonight is our 3rd night, last night) it very much. However, the following two areas are very misleading: 1. Gainey Ranch Golf Club: Hyatt doesn’t own it, and has no control over it. In Hyatt’s advertisement, it looks as if Hyatt can easily help guest make reservations. Totally untrue. 2. Exclusive access at Gainey Village Health Club and Spa: It is a separate club, you have to sign up at the Club, and you are required to give them your email address. We are certain we’ll receive “endless” email promotions from the club. Often unsubscribing can’t stop the subscription. Grand Hyatt should protect its reputation, not to make misleading advertisements. Thank you. Bill
Stayed here for 4 nights with a friend. Food was excellent! The breakfast sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. The service at the restaurants and pool was great. Tons of open chairs and umbrellas. Water slide was fun! Easy to uber around the area. I agree with other reviews that the rooms are loud, bring ear plugs. Self park is $32 a night which seems extreme to me. Room service menu is very limited, and there is a $5 delivery fee. Order door dash instead. Hotel guests have access to some classes at the gym across the street; make sure to ask the concierge about that. There is no hotel shuttle. Over all, I’d def stay here again!
