Many years ago when Pat Scales had a much smaller company, I had him do some light basement remodeling work. To stay on schedule, he showed up on a weekend to complete work for a subcontractor who no-showed. So when we were looking to do a large living room addition, I looked at several of Columbus' usual suspect remodelers, and out of curiosity, I looked up Pat online and was excited to learn that his business had grown into large residential and commercial remodels. I put him in the mix with 2 other well-known Columbus remodelers and after all the initial proposals came in, my wife and I ultimately decided PSR was the right team for the job. It was 100% the right decision. The whole PSR team is the best of the best. This was a very complex project - a variance process with Upper Arlington to get the job approved, a difficult L-shaped tearout of the existing structure, a huge new great room build leading into a covered outdoor patio, and a sound-resistant, double-drywall install to convert the old living room into a new office. Despite the unhelpful spring weather, the team kept the project moving and completed the majority of the work in about 8 months. The finished product was even better than we expected. The entire PSR team were great at listening to our requirements and materializing them into a finished product. And when there were difficult decisions to be made, the team was able to provide deep expertise and excellent options. A project of this size requires both detailed design and flawless execution, and there were two key PSR members responsible for the overall success. Marian, PSR's architect, held several in person meetings with my wife and I to make sure the initial design was on point and met our challenging requirements. She was able to quickly modify the architecture diagrams as we were there in person, which sped up a very difficult design process. There were very complex details to sort out, and Marian was able to navigate all the building codes, zoning ordinances and the variance process. Mike D. was our project manager and the best PM in the business. There were no less than 9 subcontractors to manage, and he kept the entire project moving quickly and seamlessly, with constant communication. There was an endless task list to work through and Mike made sure there were no loose ends. When issues needed addressed, he was fully engaged making sure they were dealt with. The great relationships he has with his team and all the subs is how a large, complex project gets properly executed. His skill and experience made a very complex project seem easy. I should also add that my wife and I both work from home, and on any large construction project like this you will have people in your house on an ongoing basis. Our 3 main construction leads, Adam, Jake, and Jake all became part of our family over this time. They were great communicators and very helpful at keeping all the chaos of construction to a minimum. The staff interior designer, Miranda, made sure the total aesthetic of the project turned out absolutely beautiful. There were numerous other people on the project, too many to name, plus the subcontractors, and I had a great experience with all of them. All friendly, easy to work with, and even our neighbors who came into contact with the team all had great experiences with them! Highly recommend you reach out to PSR for your next renovation project!!!

We recently got our basement remodeled by Pat Scales Remodeling and we are thrilled with the results. We have lived in our home for the past 25 years and have gone through several remodels of other areas of our home. This is by far the most positive remodeling experience we have had! Our first meeting was with Pat himself, and it was clear at that meeting that his company would be a great choice for our remodel. Next, our meetings with Miranda and Marian gave us ideas we could never have thought of ourselves, and their digital renderings of what our basement could look like gave us the confidence that the ideas would work well in our space. The initial cost estimate was completely in the ballpark of what the final payments ended up being. They are an honest company. After those consultations our project began in a timely manner, and managers Jeff and Mike made sure everything ran smoothly. Every day there was work, they kept us informed of what was going on well in advance. Each day there was work, the area was cleaned up well at the end of the day and there were minimal intrusions into our lives. Special shout-outs to Logan and Cliff for their excellent work! We are thrilled with our new space! It is stylish, functional and well-designed. We will not hesitate to hire Pat Scales Remodeling again for our next project.
We couldn’t be happier with the work that Pat Scales and his entire team did for our new three seasons room. Everything was handled so professionally and with such wonderful attention to detail that we never had to worry. We initially met with Pat, then Miranda and Marian to finalize the initial plans who helped us make the room we wanted a reality. Mike was excellent with communication the entire time with managing the project and with suggestions along the way to improve things. Rob was always there to check in on the progress as well and we were so impressed by the entire crew who handled the construction, painting and final details. Thank you Adam and Logan! I ultimately chose Pat Scales after a couple of referrals. I will absolutely use them again and can’t recommend them enough. We are so happy with our new space.
WOW!!! Pat Scales Remodeling is impressive and their home addition process is incredibly dialed-in. My wife and I were merging our families in anticipation of getting married, and had to either sell my house and find something bigger, or add on 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to the home that my kids have known and loved to be able to make it work for all of us. We reached out to 14 companies, 8 of which were interested in our project and provided pricing, 3 of whom I believed would be capable of doing really good work. All 3 on our short list, including PSR were over our budget based on what I had described wanting to each contractor at our initial consultations. However, PSR has a design process in place that allows you to work though different concepts to understand the cost impacts of different ideas as well as be able to see and change live in 3D render. Through this process we were able to get exactly what we needed down within our budget. Their field team was incredibly communicative, and we enjoyed having them in our home. They were happy to discuss the goings-on of the project at the end of each day, and always seemed to be happy with great attitudes in general. It was a very well run project by their PM Mike D. and I imagine that likely contributes to the team's positive morale. This positivity definitely shows through to the client in each interaction. We had a handful of Change Orders throughout the project which were our ideas that they were happy to bring to life for us, but also a couple of unforeseen items such as an old buried brick cistern found during excavation which had to be removed and back-filled with concrete. Even with these changes during construction, our final invoice came in UNDER BUDGET. This is because Pat's team knows these things will happen or come up. So, rather than putting the homeowner in a tough spot to make decisions about cost vs. doing something correctly, they include allotments and contingency money in the original estimate to cover unforeseens as they arise. I was so nervous going into this with all of the stories of contractors nickel and diming after the work has begun. PSR never did anything of the sort. To then have them come in under budget at the end was a legitimate WOW! My biggest piece of advice after going through this whole experience is to not let sticker shock scare you away from PSR. They are setting you up for success with your project by considering all possible costs. At the end, if allotments or contingency dollars aren't used, you get them back. I was actually legitimately shocked by this at the end when they came in under budget and we were asked to pay less on our final invoice than we were expecting. We have everyone moved in and settled now and couldn't be happier with everything PSR has done for us. Thank you so much to Pat and the entire PSR team!
Pat Scales Remodeling did an amazing job in our home remodel! We have been saving for years and wanted to make sure we had the right partner. The team was amazing and didn’t cut any corners. Thank you PSR!
