While I LOVE all my Doctors here, the front office is incredibly disorganized and I find myself getting very frustrated with their seeming inability to solve what should be quick and easy fixes. Get emails stating my lab results are available in the portal, yet there are no new results and trying to get ANYONE to return your phone call is like pulling teeth with no numbing. It's not that difficult to actually communicate with your patients!
I really thought I was just unlucky in my experience here (Portland clinic), but if I had read reviews I’d have known it is not unique. Go elsewhere for your own safety and well being. I went into withdrawal from not getting refills approved for a new anxiety medication (an anti seizure medication) that I couldn’t get anyone to deal with or care about until I broke down and got loud on the phone because I was having panic attacks and not sleeping. Appointments will get canceled, then rescheduled, and then canceled. I’ve tried FIVE TIMES to get some blood work done and am in some kind of purgatory where OIH simply cannot get it together to give me the proper paperwork. I often resort to the urgent care clinic because things are so disorganized here. Makes you want to give up on trying to feel better in any way when the person who’s supposed to help you clearly doesn’t care if you live or die. This is dangerous behavior. I hope that someday they fully grasp their position of responsibility to their patients. Levels of negligence and incompetence which would be almost comical if PEOPLE’S LIVES WEREN’T AT STAKE 🚩🚩🚩🚩

They only allow you to bring up one or two health issues in appointments. They are booked out sometimes for months. They cancel appointments last minute. The office staff doesn’t seem to be medically trained or able to handle this kind of environment. They might be understaffed or overwhelmed with too many responsibilities. You basically have to beg to get decent healthcare and that is dehumanizing. Sometimes phone calls and messages don’t get answered at all. Seems like they need more doctors too. If you have complex medical issues, it’s very stressful trying to get help. It would be great if they had general practitioners who did primary care. Naturopathy is great but when you have heart problems, cancer, serious illnesses you need someone who knows what to look out for. Some drs have been helpful but overall it’s been really stressful experience trying to get right referrals and testing done. It should not be so difficult. Some people were very unprofessional and just straight up rude.
First appt I was 10 minutes late and they refused to let me see the Dr so I had to reschedule. A month later, I go in 10 minutes early only to tell me that my appt was cancelled 2 hrs prior and I never got notice. The receptionist didn't know why. His solution was to make another appt which is 1 month out. I drove across Portland to go to these. They also never answer your messages on the athena app. Stay far away. I'll be looking elsewhere. Unfortunate as I liked this office for years.
This is where you go if you want your prescription refill requests to be ignored for days and days on end and NEVER get a return phot call despite leaving voice mail after voice mail, which is all you get -- when you call you NEVER get a live person. My blood pressure prescription refill request was ignored for a solid week before I resorted to going into the clinic and unfortunately had to be quite pointed with them in order to get them to take action. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Now I have another prescription refill request in a similar 'ignored' state for several days. ALSO NOT ACCEPTABLE. They clearly aren't able to execute even on the basics of running a clinic. How can you trust them with anything else? This is not how you would want your healthcare to go, folks... There are other problems here -- the receptionist is a real gem, don't know where they found this guy but they should send him back. My primary care provider who was actually good has predictably left the clinic, and I can't imagine how they're going to attract another one if this is how they run their business.
