I was at the spa with a large group and the staff were very accommodating & helpful. The decor and ambience were luxurious & soothing. Joy did a wonderful job with my facial and the little shoulder massage she gave while my mask was on was amazing!
We had our daughter's wedding at the Grand Resort on 11/1/25. We actually made it an entire weekend event starting on 10/31 with a welcome party and ending with a farewell brunch on 11/2/25. I can't say enough about this resort and their staff. I only had 3.5 months to pull everything together and it was definitely a "Grand" event and weekend. Every staff member at this resort was amazing!!! The event coordinators worked very closely with me for months making sure to accommodate all of our needs and everything was perfect! We had many personalized details that they made sure to make happen and worked so well with our wedding designer that we brought in. We had so many out of town guests and the rooms were amazing and everyone raved about the hotel staff throughout the resort. We can't thank them enough for making our daughter's wedding the wedding of her dreams!

UPDATE: I upgraded my original two stars to four, because despite the chaos, the questionable plumbing, and the impromptu midnight concert series, we actually had a fabulous time and would absolutely come back. Growth. Perspective. Possibly mild sleep deprivation. When we checked out, the resort had started renovating some rooms and installing what looked like actual mattresses instead of the charming cement-inspired slabs we had. So honestly, I’m feeling optimistic for future guests. Progress is beautiful. About that toilet situation . I now suspect it was turned off due to renovations. It was an easy fix once we discovered the “secret switch,” but I do think “Plumbing Escape Room” should maybe be listed under amenities. And yes, it was 2 AM when I originally wrote this, not because I was struck by creative genius, but because some very generous guests were hosting a late-night surround-sound concert that piped directly into our room. Nothing says “peaceful getaway” like involuntary infomercials and bass vibrations in your pillow. No elevator to the second floor meant we enjoyed a complimentary CrossFit session hauling luggage up two flights of stairs. Who needs a fitness center when you’ve got suitcases and determination? The resort did lend a helping hand for the stair climb. The beds. Oh the beds. Let’s just say they were firm. Like “concrete slab with ambition” firm. I’ve napped on airport carpet with more forgiveness. But again, renovations are happening, and hope is alive. Was it chaotic? Yes. Was it imperfect? Absolutely. Did we still laugh, make memories, and have a genuinely fabulous time? Also yes. If this is the “#1 resort in Ohio,” I do still have questions… but apparently we’re willing to return and investigate further. 😌 I highly recommend this resort as a destination.
Rooms are comfortable and well adorned. Facility has indoor and outdoor pool, nice restaurant, exercise facilities, and more than one bar. There is also a recreation building with bar, TV room, games, and outdoor tennis area (currently 2.20.26 under repair). This is a great place to stay when you are in or near Warren, OH
We stayed in February of 2026, being in Ohio and about an hour away from our home- it was super convenient. We arrived a few hours ahead of our check in time and our room was ready, which was nice. The room did have some empty water bottles under the dresser while I’m sure is an oversight on housekeeping, but that was the only thing out of place, everything else was clean and they have some emergency items, like a dental kit (which I’ve never seen at a hotel before) which was a nice touch. We grabbed lunch at the atrium nothing overly impressive but it wasn’t outrageously priced either so. We originally had reservations at the Gatsby however after seeing the reviews vs the pricing on the menu we opted to go to another steakhouse nearby. When we came back we decided to still swing by the Gatsby for a drink the piano player was a nice touch, probably more laid back than I assumed, at times we were unsure if he was even playing, and we were sitting pretty close to him. We absolutely loved the cigar lounge, such a different atmosphere and we really enjoyed it. We then went down to the wine bar grabbing a drink before heading to the Roman bath, we went to this bar earlier as well and both times it was very difficult to get served in a timely manner. Both times we noticed one bartender working and two people to entertain that many people would be probably be beneficial. The Roman bath was nice, from what we heard it’s kept at around 92 degrees, in Ohio at outside temperatures at 19 degrees a few degrees warmer would’ve made a big difference. They also had an outside heater, which would’ve been nice- but it wasn’t on… they provide pool towels- but you have to go to the indoor pool area to get them, which no one tells you until you start asking everyone. Once we called it a night we were excited to watch our show that comes out every Friday, and like many many many reviews- our WiFi was down.. when I called the front desk the attendant simply stated “sorry about that IT is not here right now”. To be honest I was surprised how much lack of sympathy or urgency in the situation… I mean it’s 2026 and your staying at a resort… the bare minimum is working WiFi. Not even a “let me know what sweet treat we can bring to your room for the inconvenience”, glass of champagne, something. I’d like to say it was a fluke but so many of the reviews over the last several months state the same thing. I did ask for a manager to call me the following morning and they did offer to credit me back 20% of the fee of the room. So if you plan on watching anything other than the hotel ads I’d recommend bringing your own HDMI cord and connect your phone/ipad that way because the way it was described to me, it seems like a constant issue. I’d give this another shot in the summer when we’re have a little more to do during the day. But for the winter for us, we would probably not attend again.
